I swear I've seen threads like this dozens of times but I can never search for topics on here. ANYWAY...

I see the latest temps on weather.com are for 1/4 & it's rainy. We leave 1/9 & will be in the parks 1/10-1/12. The average for those dates are 69/48......

Typically we go back to the hotel after lunch and rest before dinner & heading back to the park - a perfect time to get warmer clothes on. But what to do w/ a heavy jacket you take off (morning it's chilly, afternoon not so much)? Do you go all the way to Main St & pay for a locker? Do you stash it under the stroller & hope no one steals it? I'm not even certain if we're bringing the stroller....

I've only been there in the summer so I'm completely unaccustomed to carrying around extra clothes...and I'm from AZ so we get cold fast! 69 is borderline jacket use for me!

What do others do?

I went last year in Feb. I would wear a long-sleeved shirt and bring my sweat-shirt hoodie jacket along. I found I could wear the jacket pretty much most of the day, since in the shade it would get very cool. In the sun it would be nice and warm, so I would just tie it around my waist if I got too warm. Being from Hawaii, I get cold easily too. In the evenings I would bring a heavier jacket. A few nights I would still be cold. I'm bringing gloves this year!!

Do an anti-rain dance for me. We arrive Jan. 3. I'm not too worried yet, since they usually can't predict rainfall for the next day, yet alone a week out. But good, dry vibes will be appreciated.:)

Our last visit (December) was very weird for us, because we got cold, even though we're from western WA. The problem with putting a jacket away entirely is that when we were in the sun, it was nice. But then you went into a shadow, and it was cold.

The same thing continued on the rest of my trip, 9 days in San Diego. Just walking around, like at SeaWorld...if in the sunshine, warm. Step out of the sunshine, much much cooler. I carried my sweatshirt with me at all times!

Actually instead of bringing my big coat, I bought a zippered sweatshirt while at Disneyland, so I could vary the level of warmth. :) Worked well, for Disneyland and San Diego alike!

Our first day Feb 06 as we prepared to head to parks we watched pool maintenence at HO-Jo as hubby got ready. It was 70 degrees DD and I were in shorts and a t-shirt. Maintenence was wearing a parka.
When we got to the Esplanade
(dancing to keep warm in morning chill) we were in line and the little boy in front of us asked his mom in a loud voice "why are they wearing shorts?"
She read our Canada t-shirts and told him we were from where igloos are and this is positively hot to us.
We are lucky to see a day or two of snow a year where we are from but that made me smile.
Most of the trip was yoga pants, jeans ,t-shirts and hoodies in the evening. This year we will remember to pack out little disposable rain ponchos too just in case. Extra shoes are a bonus if you don't load boat right on Splash and end up with soakers!

THank you - I suppose I COULD see us needing the jackets all day, off & on. I bought DD & DS new Disney zip hoodies w/ "sherpa" lining...too heavy to tie around DS little waist so maybe they'll just wear those at night. And I'll bring gloves too - good tip!

Im from Arizona too and went last weekend. I wore a sweat shirt or sweater all day every day and at night I was putting my warmer jacket over the sweater and still felt pretty cold waiting for fireworks that got cancelled. My husband and I both wore light gloves in the evening too. I agree about the sun feeling warmer and once I tied my sweat shirt around my waste when it got above 70 but had to put back on as soon as I got in shade. The weather seemed a little warmer in the day time than Arizona and about the same as our nights but I remember my husband and I talking about how at home we dont sit on the sidewalk for hours on end so it doesnt feel as cold at home. lol. We carried our jackets in back packs but they do have lockers you could rent instead.

Barbday - the sweater AND hoodie is something I could see us doing bc in our current weather (I assume you're in the Phx metro area somewhere) I'm wearing a light sweater, fleece & a jacket & scarf too sometimes. I'm COLD. So I guess double layers for the day & triple for the night! And gloves...

what i usely do when i get warm is tie my jacket around my waist, but as soon as i get cold i slip it back on.. i will rember the ponchs next time we go so if it rains we wont have a ruined day (ok so it was my bday is the only reson i was so mad)
