I am in the process of planning a family vacation that will include 4 different staterooms. One of the people on the trip wants a room with a balcony, while the rest of us want the 10 or 11 class rooms. The only problem is we want land/sea - can we all request to be in the same moderate hotel (which hopefully will bring the trip price down a little!). Has anyone had this problem?

We are looking to go March 2005, so we would like to book it quickly!

Thanks in advance!

You would have to book the land and Cruise seperatly to do this as your stateroom Catagory goes with a certain level of resort
And Depending on the season can be cheaper or more expensive

Land/Sea packages tie a specific resort to a specific category of stateroom, so you would have to book the packages separately. It is easy to do a cat 6 and a cat 11 and get rooms across the hall from each other on the ship. However, an 11 puts you at a moderate resort,(Carribean Beach, Port Orleans, etc.) a 6 at a deluxe resort (Poly, Grand Flo, COntemp, etc.). The only way to do it all at one resort will be to book the sailing, then book the land separately.

Do the trips apart. Don't use Land and Sea. It costs more and it really isn't helpful. If you booked seperatly you'd save alot (I forget about how much) but that way you can choose your own accomadations at WDW.

The saving depends. When you book how far out and season also if we are lucky to find great codes, If you want a deluxe as we do the package over a year ahead cost us less than staying at the poly for 4 nights !
If some can find it please
point me to when in May (late ) I can get the Poly for under $100 dollars a night! :Pinkbounc
My cost with transfers Cat6 is just over $1000 per. for 3
I'm trying to do a 3 day only for DW and I this june or July inside 11 or 12 and just that is almost the same! 1500+ for the 2 of us
I guess it pays to get the early booking at $2700 under the rate!

On our first cruise we did the land/sea package. We were in a Cat. 2, my brother and his family and our Mom were in a Cat. 6. This would have placed us at the Grand Floridian and them at the Polynesian. Since we wanted to be all together and they couldn't "upgrade" to the Grand Floridian, we "downgraded" to the Polynesian. HTH

After spending some time pricing it out both ways, the land/sea package seems to be cheaper - this is using a value hotel!! After you add the cruise, the transfer, the passes and the hotel, it add up! I think it is cheaper too, because we are booking so far in advance. We will just be at different hotels. Thanks for all the help!

:D

Did you consider booking land/sea packages for the 3 rooms (cat 10) and having the group from the balcony room book separately so they can also stay at your hotel?

I just received a quote from a travel agency (the only prices I had up until now were the Disney quotes). This trip is for 7 adults and 5 kids, so I am trying to get at least four different quotes/options to get the best price. It does seem like we are going to save a ton of money by booking almost a year in advance!

Thanks for the help everyone!!
