How to plan around the 50th Anniversary?

We are talking about going next January, 2021 however I have been reading that DW will be celebrating it's 50th anniversary in October of 2021 and that there will be a ton of construction and closures leading up to it. We don't want to wait until October but is going at the very beginning of 2021 going to be a disappointment with construction and closures? Does anyone know when the 50th anniversary festivities will begin at WDW?

No one knows when the 50th festivities will start. Educated guess is late May/June time frame.

There's already some closures and a ton of construction leading up to it right now.
