How to Plan a Vacation without Theme Parks

I've got an all female vacation coming up...some people don't plan to go into the big Three theme parks.

What is there for them to do otherwise? Lets eliminate golf or fishing or anything like that...these are little old ladies.

Help...they would be fine staying in and going out later.

The 2 outlet malls would be a great place to start. Maybe the new Millenia mall(but I've heard it's a little pricey).Downtown Disney or Citywalk in the afternoon/early evening(before the girls wearing nothing on their torso but a belly-button ring and a too-tight half-top get there). There are a ton of nice restaurants to go to, and Cirque at Downtown Disney might be intriguing, or maybe a dinner show.

Shopping at any of the outlets/malls.

Afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian.

Cirque de Soleil

Storytelling, animal viewing, shopping and dinner at AKL.

Spa Treatments.

Dinner Show

Tea at the Grand Floridian & AKL!!!

I'll have to remember those.

Malls too...no one has to buy if they don't want to. My family consists of champion window shoppers.

Cirque...I'd love to get Mom to one of those...I'm not sure La Nouba is the one tho'.

How about a look round Celebration or a trip to Cypress Gardens (not really a theme park) ?
Also there's Bok Gardens in Lake Wales, Old Town, World of Orchids, Winter Park and so much more !

Yes, I can picture little old ladies enjoying a drive around Celebration town then wandering through downtown area.

How about a stroll on the Boardwalk with a stop at the shops including Wyland's and maybe the bakery?

How about shopping at Downtown Disney? I really think they would enjoy dinner at Boma and a tour of AKL. The Tea at GF would be perfect, I agree! (My mother and her 70 yr old DH loved it!) They also loved going over there at night to hear piano music. I think little old ladies would enjoy cruising up and down the waterways in a boat. Maybe you could take them from DD to OKW to Olivia's for lunch.

emphasis on a great hotel pool, upscale meals, shopping, and other lesser gated attractions like Cirque du Solei, others on Int'l drive. Plenty to do w/o theme parks.

Maybe your group would enjoy exploring the Gaylord Palms Resort. There have been some wonderful reviews of this brand new resort in Orlando, which includes a massive indoor atrium, as well as many restaurants and shops. While looking at the website, make sure you click on the "Top 10 Reasons" to visit and click on each "Tour" section (there are links at the bottom of each page to a photo gallery). Looks great! :)

Winter Park would make a great outing. Museums like the Morse (world's largest collection of Tiffany glass), the Cornell, and the Polasek are free or very low cost. Don't miss the Winter Park Scenic Boat Tour, either -- only $8. Great shopping and dining as well. And just driving around WP and gawking at the posh homes is fun, too.
