DD1 is going to CRT 2x, PSB, CP, CM, etc, and has all the DS costumes and accessories for each one. We have Cindy, Belle, Snow White, Minnie, Tink, Pooh. All the costumes except Pooh ahave their own shoes, crown, and wands. I'll probably pack the crowns in my carryon (not sure about taking the wands), but I'm not sure what to do with the shoes. It would have been ideal to pack the whole costumes, accessories and all, each in a ziploc. I heard, though, that TSA recommends you pack your shoes on top of your luggage. These shoes are all pretty small (size 5-6). Should I put all 5 pairs together in a ziploc and leave them on top in the luggage? I'm not sure this would be the best way to conserve space. Any thoughts?

I wouldn't bring any of those shoes. They're not good for a lot of walking and it would be just inviting an arguement on what shoes to wear!

nor does she speak coherently, so I win all the arguements.... I have a hard time keeping any shoes on her, so she would only wear these at the character meals. They are really cute, and because she is a really big kid, this may be the only time she can fit into them.

If you have a hard time keeping shoes on her, they will get lost. Don't bring the shoes. Even kids feet swell in the heat, and they might not fit anyways. I might also only bring one or two costumes. They will be too hot to wear outside of the meals, and you are stuck lugging them around the parks witgh you. My DD3 will wear her Cindy costume for CRT and MNSSHP, but its in the room otherwise. Skip the wand. It will get lost, or worse, it will knock over a drink that ends up all over that $40 coistume.

It sounds like your little one will be adorable!!!!!! Just remember that most of these costumes are hot and uncomfortable for long periods of time. Also remember that most of the accessories are not intended to be played with by children under three. They are a choking hazzard.
You want your dd at her very best and happy at these special meals. I would just play it by ear and see how happy she is with the costumes and go from there. Aslo remember that lots of tots her are are frightened by the characters and are just at the age of stranger awarness so be prepared for the fact she may not even want to get close enough to the character for a picture. Just relax and have a great time with your daughter.

I've leave the coordinating shoes at home and bring a comfortable pair of white sandals ... my granddaughter has some from Stride Rite that are as comfortable as tennies, but cute and airy ... she wears them all summer. She wore a broken in pair to WDW last summer and had no trouble with sore feet (she's 6)

But if you decide to bring the shoes I'd probably pack them in a large ziplock bag or my favorite — just wrap each pair in a bag from Wal*Mart and stuff them whereever there's a bit of space in the suitcase.
