Or in my case, kid! I'm simply busting at the seams. DD knows we are going "someday". However after much deliberation DH and I decided to take advantage of the free dining and have a really special Mother/Daughter trip this year. In 2-3 yrs we will repeat on a much larger scale. This is just a 3 day.

But i'm so excited. I booked the package, booked the flights and made several ADRs all for Sept 24-27. I really really want to surprise her and tell her as we are on the way to or at the airport. But I think I'm a selfish mommy because I want to tell her NOW!

How do you resist? Short of taping my mouth shut how do I not tell? Thats a long wait.

I don't think you would be selfish for telling her. That way she can be excited with you and help you plan your trip together. You don't say how old she is, but you know her best. Do you think she would want to be surprised or to help you plan? I think either way would be great! I would love to surprise my kids with a trip, but like you, I don't know how I could keep all the excitement to myself! Good luck and have a great trip!

DD5 doesn't know about our trip in September. We're going in May and she knows about that, but the September trip is a surprise. I wasn't planning on it until the free dining came out. I'll tell her the night before we leave. I surprised her once before and it was great.

I am having a hideous time trying to keep our surprise to myself, too! :-) No advice, but good luck! I keep telling myself it will be worth it to see their faces when they finally know!!!
