How to not have sore feet?

I found that on the last trip, switching shoes helped so much. I wore my Brooks running shoes one day, and then would switch to my Sketchers Arch Fit Sandals. I still had sore feet, though, and was looking for more ideas. I have lost 65 pounds since my last trip, so hopefully that will help, too!
For our trip in June of this year I did the following:

Used footglide- It helped SO much!
During afternoon breaks I took my shoes off and elevated my feet.
Iced my feet once a day.
Wore Bombas socks.
Changed my shoes once a day.
Sat down when I could in the parks.
