How to modify reservation

Hi,

Am I able to modify my reservation from a 2 bedroom to a 1 bedroom online? I'm not going until December, but need to size down.

Logged into DVCmember.com and clicked on modify and all it gives me is the definition. Logged into the booking site and see availability, but don't see modify existing reservation.

Any help is appreciated.

The on-line system will only allow you to cancel the entire reservation or add a dining plan. Any other changes must me made by MS. You can contact them by phone, chat or use the contact us option on the member website.

Thanks. I think I assumed that, but perhaps I missed something. Guess I'll call MS this morning.

Now that I think about it more, I think you have to call to change room sizes. Chat and email can be used to add/remove guests, room requests, general questions, etc. But for changes that affect point usage, you need to call.

Changing a room size is actually going to involve cancelling and re-booking. If there's still availability for the one-bedroom on the web site, you can do these two transactions yourself. There's no guarantee, though, that the one-bedroom would still be there in the time it takes you to cancel your existing reservation and get back in to book the new one.

If there isn't availability for a one-bedroom and you're going to ask them to cancel the studio off a two-bedroom lockoff you have booked, you're going to need a little pixie dust and the luck of the draw in the game of cast member roulette. Some have reported success in doing this, but I don't think it's guaranteed that they'll let you do it.
