How to meet talking Mickey? And other character meet questions

We are going during March break. I expect high crowd levels during our visit there.

1. We would love to meet the Talking Mickey. Is there a way to ensure that the Mickey we see talks? Because I read here that sometimes Mickey is mute. For high crowd levels at Magic Kingdom, do I need to burn a FP+ for Mickey Meet? How long is the wait in the earlier morning?

2. When we visit the parks at 2009, characters come out to meet during evening EMH at odd locations. Do they still do that? And do the character still ride on some rides in early morning or late night?

3. Will there be any special characters that come out during March break or Flower Festival?

Thanks in advance. :)

There's a Mickey that talks? I thought that was the stuffed animal one?

1. Talking Mickey at the MK should talk, well kind of. Don't expect a full on open ended Q&A. They now seem to do skit Mickey where you play along.

But the only reason he wouldn't talk would be a technical issue.

2. Not sure

3. Not any more than at any other time. Check the Kenny the pirate site http://kennythepirate.com/ for any updates.

The M&G at the MK has the new Talking Mickey.

Here is a video.

If you check out any other videos just be aware that there were other versions over the last couple of years that tried to be more interactive and some that were outright "misrepresentations". So look for ones posted after around mid october of 2013.

We met Talking Mickey this past Sunday in his spot at MK. It was a surprise as I didn't even remember he had officially rolled out.

It was a cool, albeit odd, experience. We had run the half marathon and were wearing medals - he got a little confused (too much cheese, probably!) and said "Happy Birthday!"

Wish I could help with the other two questions; not sure if Talking Mickey is ALWAYS at the MK location.

As an adult I think the talking Mickey would weird me out a bit because I know there someone in there that has to forcibly play along with whatever pre-selected phrases are available to him or her.

It just adds an extra layer of awkwardness to meeting a character.

An interesting question. Are the paper FP machines gone for Talking Mickey? I ask because when we were there at Thanksgiving I went to get a FP and there were 3 somewhat official looking CMs standing there with Ipads wearing suits. So I asked to be sure that the FP for Mickey was not connected to the other FP because our next stop was to go try to pull a FP- for BTMRR. He assured me that it was not as he pulled them for me and commented that "We never stop anyone from seeing the Mouse!"

So I just wonder if they have kept the separate paper FP system to "never stop anyone from seeing the Mouse" or if you now have to use one of your 3 FP+ to do it---because we tried standby first and that was an epic FAIL!

I don't know if you'll see too many characters riding the rides in the mornings, and kennythepirate is a great source for schedules as someone else already posted. My best character advice is to go early in the morning, or near parade/fireworks time in the evenings. The lines are almost always shorter then in my experience. Also, Jasmine and Tiana will take a break during the afternoon parade. To see them you can always get in line during the break to be one of the first to see them when they come back.

Oh, I never realize it counted separately. I wonder what is the situation with meeting Mickey now?

I have to think that now the days of "disconnected FPs" are over, Mickey would be a very low FP priority. I love Mickey and all, but with so many headliners in one park it would be hard to justify using one of only 3 spots for him. Even if he talks.

Paper fp for Mickey were gone as of yesterday. Park opened at 9 we went right to talking Mickey had about 10 min Waite.

Paper fastpasses were gone for everything in the MK as of yesterday.

And I would guess that as long as offsite guests cannot schedule FP+ in advance, the FP kiosks are going to be the hottest ticket for at least the first half hour the parks are open.

we saw talking Mickey this morning. my toddler wasn't quite sure what to make of him. Mickey tried to get him to fly like Peter Pan. but my little guy didn't really get it. then he wanted DS and DD to pose like they were flying. he held up one of my toddler's hands, but my DD just looks awkward.

it could be a really cool experience though. i just think my little one was too young to get it.

Have a safe trip home. :goodvibes

We met Talking Mickey in December! It did feel like it was a bit prerecorded but it was still one of the highlights of our trip!! My grandmother had to park the scooter and Mickey was helping her along chatting the entire time!!

We met him first thing in the morning!! Were gonna pull FPs (not entirely applicable now) but the lady convinced us not to. Had we gotten right in line it probably would only have taken about 10 minutes. It ended up being about a 20 minute wait. But I digress.

What I did was asked every CM if Mickey was feeling chatty. Some on the outside did not know but when we got a bit closer they assured me that they had just talked to him!! I freaked...and then I cried!! I was so happy!!

We hitchhiked like the ghosts from the spooky Haunted Mansion!! :D

It's great fun for everyone!!

Sorry that's the only question I felt qualified to answer!! Have a magical trip!!

We really enjoyed the talking mickey in Dec, honestly, it was amazing, we were all a little in shock and didn't really know what to say. He did however have a full on conversation with the couple from Japan in front of us, getting everyone involved to say kinichioa (i know that's not spelt right, lol) and it was awesome.

I'm really not sure about emh, I thought I'd read somewhere that they no longer came out, but I believe it's that they just don't have as free reign as they used to. Characters with indoor meet and greets I THINK might stay out longer?

An entertainment friend said that if it's just Alice, you might luck out with her on the teacups with you, but The white rabbit was having trouble getting in there nowadays so he stopped.

I don't think any special characters will be out around that time, but they might have something suprising up their sleeves!
