Is it possible to meet the princesses without going to Ariel's Grotto? Is there a spot in FantasyLand, like at WDW?

YES! In DL there is the Princess Fantasy Faire. In the Royal Hall you can meet up to 3 Princesses at a time. There is also the Royal Theatre where you can watch a princess play (Belle or Rapunzel) and if you do not leave the theatre, after the show the characters usually come out for a meet and greet.

Sometimes you can find Tiana in New Orleans Square.
I'm not sure if Merida still has her spot by its s small world or if she is at the Princess Fantasy Faire now.
I have seen Princesses at gate opening meeting and greeting after you enter.

Anna And Elsa have their own meet and greet by Pinocchios wild ride (LONG wait times for this one!)

Have a Magical Time!

Oh definitely. We've "bumped into" princesses all over. We met Tiana in New Orleans Square. Snow White by her wishing well near the Castle. We met three princesses at Fantasy Faire. We met Jasmine and Aladdin at the back entrance to Tiki Room. Brave was big during our last trip so there was a meet and greet setup by It's a Small World to meet Merida. We LOVED the Rapunzel show at the Royal Theatre.

Honestly, some have specific meet and greets setup but we've ran into others without even trying. I love Disney magic :wizard:

You'll often see other characters from Princess movies too. We ran into the Fairy Godmother more than once. The evil step mothers are a hoot (boy do they have the GLARE down good). Alice isn't an official princess but we've seen her and the Mad Hatter often too.

Oh good! DD16 LOOOOVES Snow White!

Bough not a princess, Wendy can also often be found when Peter Pan appears.

And don't forget Tink and friends in Pixie Hollow!

The change was never officially announced, but since the Saturday Afternoon Massacre* , meetings with Snow White have been in the Royal Hall, and at the entrance.

Wendy is rarely seen as a walk-around character in Disneyland Park.

* Queen Grimhilde, Fairy Godmother, Genie, Captain Hook

We saw her lots of times between 2005-2011, but never alone. She's always with Peter Pan. We've seen them near the flag pole on Main Street and both appeared in Fantasyland. My kids even became involved in a game of red light green light with them and Alice (of Wonderland). Maybe she isn't appearing much lately. I can't remember if we saw her the last time we visited.
