how to make room requests?

How does one go about putting in a request for a certain location of a room? My Husband and I will be staying at the Port Orleans Riverside December 1st -8th and I know i want magnolia terrace. Also My in-laws will be staying also so we would like rooms in same building. This is a first trip for all four of us to WDW and I am very very excited!

The normal procedure is simply to make your requests most important first at the time of booking just tell the CM what you want. If you have multiple requests they will try to honor the first on but may not try to honor others and there are no guarantees.

i asked and they said they could not guarentee it. but i have read in other trip reports and stuff that the week before leaving the people have sent in room requests? and usually got them?

I was told that room requests need to be made in writing via fax 4 days before your trip. For instance, we were arriving on Saturday, so we faxed our request to the room assigner on Tuesday. Unfortunately for us, when we arrived, the computers were down & all our info we sent to CBR was lost somewhere out in cyberspace.

So then we would just fax the hotel themselves?

Well, I requested a King room last year at ASMu, but the only thing they noted on the ressie was non-smoking. So, when I faxed in my requests for additional pixie dust, I listed in order of importance our items. I asked for non-smoking, because we both have asthma. I asked for a king bed, because we both are pooh sized and a double bed would have been misery. I asked for an upper floor room, so that it would be a quiet room. And finally, I asked for the Jazz building since it was closest to the lobby without paying for a preferred view. I got it all. Good luck! Mickey
