How to make extra money?

I also have a shop on Etsy and I think they are very reasonable as far as fees. I sell vintage stuff, not handmade. I don't make a TON of money, but I also don't have a huge amount of items. You can get paid either through paypal or Etsy now allows you to accept credit cards straight through the site and they send the money to your bank account once a week. I find it to be a fun way to make money because I love cool vintage items and shopping at thrift stores but I can't keep everything I find.

I would like to thank whoever suggest SwagBucks the other day. I've only been on the site for 3 days and have earned enough for a $10 gift card. Not a lot, but at least I'm doing something during my free time instead of just watching TV and browsing the internet.

Another suggestion: Sell any old gold!!
I dug through my old jewelry this morning and found a few gold pieces I have no use for and took them to sell this morning... got $130! :cool1:

*Global Test Market

Global Test Market didn't work for me. I usually didn't qualify -- I wonder if that's because I'm in Canada :confused3

Mystery shopping is another option for scoring free food and a few free items here and there, along with a little cash.

I did it a couple of times a long time ago. I think I'll check into that again myself!

When I did it, it wasn't a lot of money and not really enough to even be worth it, but I live in a small town. I would have to make a special trip just to go "mystery shop" at one store. If I could've lined up 3-4 trips in one day then it would've been worth it, and I'm sure in larger cities there are opportunities to do that.

I started Mystery Shopping in December -- I have 2 places now...BestMark and MarketForce. Most of the BestMark ones I have done have been online. They don't actually pay that well, $4 for online shops, $5 for phone call, etc. but it is really adding up. That might work for you since you can do online ones from anywhere.

Thanks for the tips on surveys etc. So far Opinion Outpost has been working for me -- I cash out in PayPal bucks, and it's paying for our NetFlix. But I'm going to try some of the others posted here too.:thumbsup2

I have a question about gold selling...How did you find a good place to take it to? I'm so scared I'll get scammed and once it's gone its gone forever.

And checking into Etsy right now -- I'm excited :yay:

I sell Scentsy to make extra money. I have been selling for about 4 months and have made about 700.00. Not a tremendous amount but for not really having to do a lot it is good money. Plus I love the product and it really sells itself. I also do some if the things listed above but often I forget about them for several days at a time so I don't make too much that way.

I just started swag bucks and was wondering if someone could explain the difference between an e-gift card and a regular gift card?

An e-gift card just means you will get a code to add to your account worth the value of the giftcard. You will not actually receive a plastic giftcard like you would buy in a store, just a digital code worth $X.XX... Hope this helps!

My swag bucks account or my bank account ? And how would you use a Starbucks one for example because they don't have an online shop? Sorry for the questions but I'm pretty new at this.

You would add the value of a Starbucks e-gift card to an existing Starbucks card. If you have a registered card, it's very easy on their website to transfer balances from one card to another. Then you can use it at a coffee shop, you don't have to use it online.

I don't make extra money right now, but I really can make the money we have go much further.

We have the lowest phone pay as you go cells we felt comfortable with. I researched and researched before doing it.

We cut Satellite TV.

We got Ooma for our home phone service.

I read several articles and easy reads on how to cut groceries down to the bare minimum (I don't do all they say, but great tips!) Books like:

http://www.amazon.com/Feed-Family-M...F8&qid=1359643090&sr=8-1&keywords=feed+family

Is my current grocery budget $800? Well, let me see if I can cut that to $650 next month. Did I spend $300 on gas last month? Let's see if we can get that to $225 by combining trips, etc.....

Clothing is either rock bottom sales or used. (Got my 15 year old 7 pairs of jeans in almost new condition for $14 at a yard sale, jeans like Aeropostale!)

I could work, but I am staying home by choice right now. I feel like my job is to find ways to make our money go as far as possible.

For me, doing surveys or selling things is just not appealing, particularly when you add up the hours and realize it isn't gaining you much. I would much rather look at our budget and see ways to trim without cutting our lifestyle too much, and go from there.

Just thought I would throw this in there as it is what I find works best for me.

Search for google jobs and then select the telecommute option. There are jobs there, esp. if you speak a foreign language or are in the UK.

It doesn't add up to a lot, but we also save cans from both my work and DH's work; we also pick up and deliver the pop to my DH's breakroom and then get the coke points; those actually add up more than I would have thought; got a $50 Southwest giftcard at Christmas and was just a few points short of DH being able to get one too.

Thanks that makes a bit more sense :) So if I dont have a card i should go get one

I found a job on work like home site, I LOVE it. I was lucky to get full time work. There are jobs that offer part- time too. There are a lot of great jobs on there that you can do from home. Just remember that you should not have to pay for the job!

Can you share what company you found a job with? Alot of them seem unsure to me...Thanks!

There are lots of at home jobs, such as 1800 flowers, Arise, Cloud 9, UHAUL. Just check the forums on these sites cause other people post what is legit.

Again, thank you to whoever suggest Swagbucks. I just redeemed two $25 Target gift cards for a $50 Disney one today! :)
