LGMH ::Lime Green Mickey Head:: to represent being a proud DISboard member; put it on your lanyard or bag to show show everyone your a DISmember. It is optional to put your screename on it of course, but I think it is fun.

Supplies:
LGMH; found for free at Home Depot as a color swatch in painting section
no heat laminating sheets
ruler
scissors
hole puncher
thin sharpie, if you want to write your screen name on the LGMH
key ring (maybe?)

Directions:
Hunt down LGMH:

Option: Write name with thin sharpie; let it dry; warning, if you don't have amazing handwriting, it will take you a few tries...

Peel LGMH off backing, be careful not to tear it apart

Laminate LGMH, follow the directions on how to use your laminating sheets:

Cut around LGMH & Use a whole punch to put a whole in one of the ears:

Hang your LGMH on your lanyard or bag, using a key ring of some kind if necessary

That is SOOOOO cute. But I've never seen a paint kiosk like that here in Manitoba. Too bad cause that's adorable!

I can't believe no one noticed me as a fellow Diser on my May 2011 trip! I had Green Mickeys with my screen name all over my stroller and my shirts!!!! Not one Diser stopped me to say hi! Boo....:sad2:

I'm not going to *expect* anyone to say hello to me. They may just not want to. That doesn't make them a bad person.

I am sporting on like wearing your school colors or a sports jersey; to show my support for the board.

I am also going to be sporting a wdwradio box person shirt, but I don't expect anything to come from that either. Just showing my support of Lou :lovestruc

Now if only there was a Stitch Kingdom shirt...Robo ;)

Technically the Alien lime green is the official DIS color, not the Sonic brighter green, even though the Sonic green is really prettier.:rotfl: Excellent job and instructions though.:thumbsup2

I write very small anyway, so what I do is use the lime green Mickey heads to write my ADRs on. Depending on how many ADRs I have, I write them either on one or two Home Depot Alien Green Mickey heads, cut them out (rather than peel them off), glue them back to back, laminate them, trim around the head again with scissors, and punch a hole in a ear. Since I don't use the luggage tags Disney sends with the pkgs, I take one of those rubber thingys that come with the luggage tags, loop it through the hole, then loop the other end onto the strap of my park bag. That way I have the identifying lime green Mickey head on my bag, plus always have my ADR confirmation numbers handy. It wouldn't work if I didn't naturally write small though. If I'm on the basic DDP I can get them all on one side and then on the other I write DIS on each ear and my screen name in the middle. If I'm on the DxDDP and have more ADRs, I have to use both sides. I do abbreviate though so it would look like this:

9/10
9am CRT 123456789
7pm LTT 098765432
9/11
6pm Boma 9870123456
9/12
7:20pm Ohana 567890123
9/13
8am CP 543210678
5pm Y&Y 81023946

I know I like the Sonic Boom better...I guess I should post Alien Green...

Something else I do with them: I don't have a real good sense of direction and so it takes a day or two before I can comfortably find my room.:rolleyes1 I normally stay at a moderate. When I first arrive at my room, I'll decorate my window and sometimes door to make it easier to find. Before leaving home, I'll buy a roll of magnetic tape, cut out a bunch of Alien Green Mickey heads and glue pieces of magnetic tape to the back of them to stick on the door. I'll then cut out a few more, (writing DIS on some, my screen name on some, and leaving some blank) and when I get to the room tape them to the window, along with some more cut out Mickey heads in different colors that I also picked up at Home Depot.

If I'm there during Halloween or Christmas, I'll buy some narrow black or green ribbon. I then will cut out and then string black and orange Mickey heads for Halloween or red and bright green Micky heads on it for Christmas, tieing it off right before and right after each Mickey head to make a long garland of Mickey heads. When I get to the room I tape the garland up the side, across the top, and down the other side of the window, then fill in the middle with lime green Mickey heads and the appropriate window clings for the season. It lets others identify you as a DISer and makes it easy to find your room those first few days. The Mickey heads and a roll of tape, take up almost no room in your carry on. I've also used the little suction cups with tiny hooks to hang up the garlands. Just be sure to carry a travel size bottle of windex to make sure no marks are left when you leave. I always leave the window cleaner than when I arrived.:rotfl:

Me too! Maybe we should petition to change the official color of the DIS.:rotfl: I think the reason they chose it originally though was because it's so ugly no one every bothers with those paint samples, so Home Depot always has alot of them.:rotfl: Sonic Boom is alot brighter. I use them if I'm going during the Christmas season to make a Christmas garland to go in the resort window.:rotfl:

Aubriee-
You sound just like me!! We decorate our windows bc I have no directional senses either!! Plus when we leave the bus stops I know if we passed my window so that helps me not walk the entire resort....DON'T laugh this has happened before! :thumbsup2

We will be wearing the "offical" green MH when we are there in 3 days!
I'm just not sure if it will go on my purse or on the backpack...either way I'm all about meeting new people so if you see me--please say HI!

We leave in 4 days and I already had a trip to Home Depot planned today. I think I'll add alien green MH to my list.

Thanks

I am offended by this post! :lmao: We used alien green to paint the trim in my son's toy story room. I am not a great photographer, but see pictures below. Okay, I admit, it is an ugly colour :rotfl2:, but it looks cool in his room! :)

Oh I personally think that the room looks awesome!!! :)

I need a trip to Winnipeg to score a few of these. I'd like to make one to have on my bag that I'll be carrying around and maybe one for in the window.

I might even pick up some paint! lol I wanna redecorate!

Thanks Heather! It took awhile, but we like the result!

To the poster who said the alien green was ugly and nobody would use it, I hope you know I was just kidding when I said I was offended!

Wow, what a lucky kid! That room looks so cool! I take my 'ugly' comment back.:rotfl::rotfl: I wouldn't have thought of using the Alien Green just for the trim work though. Every time I see that color, I just think who would paint four walls that color.

lol I agree. It's certainly an interesting colour. It totally works as the trim colour for the Toy Story Buzz themed room! But 4 WALLS? Hmmm I wonder what kind of room it could be? Crazy bathroom?

I think you misunderstand what I meant! I didn't mean anyone was a bad person!!!! I just thought for sure someone would say something b/c we always talk about saying hi to each other if we see the Mickey heads! The other wierd thing is that I didn't see anyone wearing one either, and I thought I would see at least one. Even if no one says a thing to me, or I never see another person wearing one, I will still wear mine proudly. I am a Diser, and I am here to stay! I don't know. Maybe they weren't as obvious as I thought they were, but I wore a huge one on my sleeve. I'm just thinking that if I didn't see anyone else's, maybe no one noticed mine. There's a lot going on at WDW. Your reason for wearing one is the same as mine! I don't mind if no one ever says a word to me b/c I tend to be private anyway, I guess I thought that was the thing to do since everyone said: "Say hi when you see my lime green mickey head!" That's why it surprised me! No worries though.

The other Disers and I that were staying at CSR had even set up a meet and greet at the pool for a certain day, and I was the only one that showed! Then I found out that the one girl and her family ended up getting sick and going to the hospital! I felt so bad for them. My green Mickeys didn't get used that day either! Oh well, I'll still iron them onto my clothes, attach them to my stroller, and maybe use my laminator on a couple to use your idea! (Yes, I'm a dork. I bought a laminator to get ready for Disney. I get made fun of frequently.)
