DS needs a costume for Circus Day at school, and I'm thinking a clown should be the easiest, but I have no idea where to start.

Help? I can't sew,if that makes a difference.

This is cute for an idea. It's from

It's all glue and paints...

Your best bet if you can't sew is to buy a larger than his size sweatsuit at Walmart and glue fabric patches and pom poms on it. You can get the pompoms and assorted fabric at Joanne's along with the fabric glue.
You want the outfit to be a bit baggy so you might have to do something with the waist if it is too big and falls off. Maybe you can open the seam a bit and put in s thin cord as a pull belt? Some sweatsuits have a channel along the waist where they put the elastic in, some are sewn along the seams. Check and see. Or if you can't do that just buy the pants the right size and a large top and decorate them.
I made my sons clown costumes many years ago and it was easy, but you do have to know how to sew to follow the pattern.
