We left Spartanburg, SC about 7:30 that morning. We drove 6 hours and stopped at Amelia Island Florida. The kids enjoyed playing on the sand for a few hours. It was too cold to get in the water.
Sunday, April 2
We left the next morning around 8:00 a.m. and arrived at Port Orleans French Quarter around 1:00 a.m. We were able to check right in. We were in room 5132. It was a beautiful resort. It reminded me of Charleston, SC. IT seemed relaxing and calm. After check in we took the boat to Downtown Disney to eat lunch at Earl of Sandwich and to let the kids shop and see the Lego store. Jake was in Lego heaven and Luke liked all of the pirate stuff. While there we got our first bit of Disney magic! We had 2 park hoppers from our honeymoon in 1995 with 2 days on each. When I went to guest relations, they said we had 3 on each. I asked if they were sure and they said yes, so we were able to go to a park on our rest day for nothing!
We went back to POFQ and checked out the pool. The water was much warmer that day than the rest of the trip. About 4:00 we hopped on the bus to Magic Kingdom and boarded the monorail for the Poly for Ohanas. We had an awesome view of the castle and the food was incredible! The boys enjoyed the hula dancing and the parade around the restaurant. Leah liked our waiter Simo and wanted him to hold her. At one point, he leaned over to serve the meat and she grabbed the back of his pants near his crotch and pulled. He had quite the surprised look on his face! After supper, we went back and turned in for the night.
Monday, April 3
We got up early and made it to Epcot at about 8:30. The did not let us in until about 8:50 but we were at the rope and the boys got a hug from Minnie and Chip. We hightailed it to Soarin and were on the first ride! Jason got a parent swap for later. Then we went to Turtle Talk and then to Imagination. It was closed, but we did Imageworks anyway. Then it was time to do Soarin again. Luke, Leah and I did the Land while Dad and Jake rode Soarin. We headed to Test Track and rode once. The it was time for lunch in Canada at Le Cellier. It was DELICIUOS! After lunch, we went back to FQ for rest and a swim. We returned about 4:30 and rode Test Track again and toured the World Showcase.
Tuesday, April 4
This morning we went to the Magic Kingdom. We got there about 8:30 and were let into the front area to watch Mickey arrive by train. We were further back in the pack than we had hoped, but ran to Dumbo anyway. Because of the line we were on about the 3rd or 4th ride and it took until 10:20. We then rode Pooh, Peter Pan, and Small World. Leah fell asleep in Pooh and missed all of the rides. Because it was close to 10:00 we walked to Splash Mountain and Big Thunder getting 2 Fast Passes and a parent swap for each. We went to Adventure land to kill an hour and saw the Tiki Birds, Treehouse, and got a Dole Whip, Yum! We then went back and rode Big Thunder 2 times, but Splash was close due to technical difficulties. We then ate at Columbia Harbor which was good. Haunted Mansion was right outside so we hit that on our way out.
We went back to the room for rest and a swim. We returned about 4:00 and rode Buzz and Philharmagic with FP collected earlier that day. It was then time for Supper at Crystal Palace. It was good, but Leah did not like the characters. After supper we rode Jungle Cruise, and Splash twice and headed to Main St. for Spectromagic. It was then that I realized my cell phone had fallen off the backpack. All three kids LOVED Spectro. Jake waved the entire time and every character seemed to wave a Leah specifically. Wishes was awesome! A nice man let Jake sit on his shoulders so he could see well. The walk to the bus was not too bad, but we got in the wrong line not realizing French Quarter had a different bus stop at night! So beware! The bus you board in the afternoon is not the one at night!
Wednesday, April 5
We slept in this morning and walked to Riverside for Breakfast at Boatwrights. It was disaster. The service was terrible! We were there 30 minutes waiting for the check! The Sweet Potato Pancakes were yummy, though. But then we decided spur of the moment to go on to Animal Kingdom. We got there about 11:00 and all of the FP for Everest were gone. So we got FP for Kali. We then went and did the Safari waiting for an hour, the longest wait all week by far. After that we ate lunch and rode Kali twice with the parent swap. We looked at some of the animals, but the boys were ready to go back and swim. Sometime before we left the park, Jason realized his cell phone had come off of his belt clip! So now we had none! We went back and swam and took the boat to DTD for supper at Wolfgang Pucks express and to shop.
Thursday, April 6
We decided to do MGM. We had originally planned on Animal kingdom for the morning and MGM that night, but changed around, We did TOT first. It scared the Bejeebers out of me, Jake and Luke! Jason loved it though! Then we did playhouse Disney, Little Mermaid and The Great Movie Ride. After that we did Lights, Motor, Action and the Backlot Tour. We left for a rest. Back at the room we got the sad news that Jasons grandmother had passed away Wednesday and due to the lost cell phones, we could not be reached. There was no way to be back for the funeral. That night we did Mama Melrose, Star Tours and Fantasmic. It was great.
Friday, April 7
We were up early and went to Chef Mickeys for Luke B-day breakfast. It was good but rushed as were underestimated the monorail time and was late. We made it to MK at 9:00 and rode Buzz 2 times, Pooh, Peter Pan, Snow White, and the Teacups. Then we did Barnstormer, and Splash/ Big Thunder twice each. We decided to eat at Pecos Bills, and it was funny b/c the were out of seating so we ended up in overflow in Adventureland side. So as we exit I happen to look over and it looks like Pirates is open! It had literally just opened for an hour of test runs before opening Saturday. We literally walked on! We shopped a bit and then headed for home. On the way out, we stopped at lost and found and they had both cell phones! How cool is that? We unfortunately got stuck in traffic and did not make it home until 2am. But all in all it was a great trip!
Miscellaneous:
We saved $268 using the Dining Plan, We spent $75 oop for Souvenirs and $125 oop for food on the road. We got 2 free tickets from old tickets.
