How to keep Warm during NYE Trip

We are visiting WDW during New Year's Eve. My daughter gets cold easily. I went to Walmart and tried to find some termal underwear for her but the material seemed so thin! Are there different types of termal underwear? Would something so thin really help keep you warm?

Have you tried the silk long johns? That seems to be what they sell in Eddie Bauer, Lands End and LL Bean. They all sell children's sizes too.

It was really cold there last year. Lots of hot chocolate and lots of browsing in the warm gift shops!

If it's silk it will provide a layer of warmth when worn under other clothes. The two most important items for keeping warm are a hat and gloves.

So a silk top and pants under her clothes will be better than termal underwear?

You can find thermal undies at The Sports Authority in the ski section. I'd imagine any other sporting goods store would have the same.

They carry regular thermal (pants and long sleeved shirts), and the silk kind.

Layers are the ticket. We went to WDW in December 01 and it was 70. We went last December and one day the HIGH was 58, suposedly! You never know.

My silk long johns are the first thing I pack for Dec/NYE trips to WDW. A few layers on top, and especially hat and gloves, and I'm able to stay warm during the long countdown to midnight!

I'm freezing pretty much every month but July & August, so I'm the Queen of Layers!

Instead of long underwear, I wear tights. I like how they feel and I like that they go over my feet.
