This will be our first trip to universal. We are staying on site for 2 days at the Royal Pacific so we will have tickets and express tickets. I have seen posts about lanyards. What have you used in the past that worked for you? We are only used to magic bands!

Only ever use clear plastic sealable lanyards........

EP facing out of one side so you don't need to bring it out to be scanned as it will scan through the plastic.

Handy and easy to use.

Lanyards! I love my Ravenclaw "school tie" style lanyard with the Witz brand, waterproof, hard clear plastic, case I got from REI.

It's what I use at Disneyland, still use at WDW (MBs aren't perfect and I carry ID, insurance card, CC, a bit of cash, and any discount cards we need), and at Universal.

Definitely get yourself a lanyard. It will make for a great side-adventure with the group. While walking from shop to shop, keep your eye out for your favorite of the hundreds to choose from. If you're not staying for very long, Citywalk has a Universal shop where you can buy one before entering the park.

I think "sealable" is the key thing here if you plan to do the water rides at IOA. The tickets/EP are not robust enough to handle getting wet.

Can the EPs be scanned through these? May be a dumb question, but I have never seen the Universal tickets so I wasn't sure if the line where the box latches blocks where the scanner falls on the ticket.

I never have to remove my ep or hotel card , or a ticket out of my lanyard

TM. have been able scan them without issue

Maybe I am lucky or maybe others have had the same experience that I have

We brought lanyards we had purchased at Hot Topic (lots of choices). Like other posters said, the holders sealed and we never took them out of the pouch. The express pass scanners were able to read the card through the plastic. Tickets stayed dry on all the water rides.

I purchased this waterproof case originally for the Dominican Republic but it works amazingly for Universal as well! I can keep everything I need in here--my annual pass, express pass if staying onsite, a credit card, a little cash AND my phone in it. It comes with a plain white lanyard, but it's easy enough to swap it out with something more fun. The best part is it's completely waterproof (I think up to 50 ft--not that you get THAT wet on Universal rides :goodvibes) and you can use the touch screen of your phone through the plastic. Soooo nice to be able to go bagless at Universal!

The EP scans; I never have to take it out.

My AP's barcode area or whatever hits at the gasket area. I haven't tried though; I just take it out. (and that's old paper AP and new plastic AP)

Thanks! I was considering purchasing these (or at least one for myself) for our upcoming trip but thought it would get old taking out the EP constantly. Accessing the tickets just once or twice a day when entering a park is no big deal.

Great thanks! I would have got it before I left but since there seems like there will be a great selection at the parks, I'll just get them there!
