what can I do to keep the mice out of my house? About 5 years ago, we had field mice get into the house. Granted we moved to the country and that's supposed to be expected but I hate mice!!!! I seem to get rid of them but as soon as the weather starts to get cold they move back in. I now have 2 dogs and 2 cats and still have evidence of mice. Everything I can think they'd eat is packed in plastic containers. I've gone so far as getting plastic bins to store boxed food (cereal, rice, etc.) after I went to open a box of spaghetti and found claws marks on it. I've put out traps and poison but nothing seems to help. I don't know if there are a lot because I never see or hear them, but I find evidence every once in awhile. My latest sign was a couple weeks ago when I went into the attic to get some Halloween stuff. They had actually eatten candles I had stored there. Why????
