How to insert a smiley

In replying to a thread, there used to be a pop-up option with all sorts of smileys. I can't find that any more. How do you insert a smiley into a post or reply?
I know I can type a : and a ) to make , but I liked being able to just pick one. Can this no longer be done or am I not looking in the right place.

Just tap the smiley face in the top bar of your reply. It opens up the emojis that can then be found at the bottom of your screen. There's four different screens full of emojis.

The bar isn't there anymore.

Have you tried different devices? I have the bars when replying on my iPad and iPhone. I don't use my computer so haven't seen what DIS looks like there.

There should be a bar at the top of the reply box. It has "B I U" for font formatting, font size, etc. And there is a smilie icon. I see it on my laptop, tablet and phone so it shoukdn't matter what device you use.

I know exactly what you are talking about. The bar doesn't show up on my laptop, which is what I mostly use. It does on my phone. I used to have it on my laptop (& used it often). Ant idea why is no longer there?

Have you tried using a different browser? I have no idea why (not techie enough to understand all that!) but sometimes the same software/website shows and works differently in different browsers.

I haven't tried a different browers, but I really just want to use the boards as I have for the last 10 years. I really don't want to have to switch between browers. I just don't understand what happened to the "bar".
I'm going to try to play around in the preferences selections and see if anything there will help.
