Hey Frank!!

been trying to think of good way to haul the fishing poles in the RV.

Normally we just throw them in the back room and forget about it, cause no ones back there much for our normal 2-6 hr drive to what ever camping spot. But now that we will be leaving at 4am and taking 2 days to get to the fort, cant just toss em in the bed room. need to find a good secure place.

any ideas guys?

This is the best picture I could find. See at the back of the TT, under the bumper. It is an 8 inch PVC pipe with caps/covers. You can put 4 to 6 poles in there, according to how big the reels are, 2 to 3 on each side.

thats a good idea, but wont work for us, our frame hitch come out right under the bumber, but that gives me an idea!:thumbsup2

Do your basements go all the way from side to side?

I put mine in my basement on my 5er. They tuck up against the back wall. I had considered mounting holders on the wall but never got around to it.

Marty-Couldn't you mount the PVC (like Denise's) on the top of your bumper instead of underneath like they do?

nope, I have a hitch reciever on the top for a bike carrier.

I think I might add 2 mounts on each side of the ladder to the top, allowing for 4 poles

Strap the pvc to the roof ladder. You can always take the reels off to store the rods in the pvc and then put them back on when you get there.

It probably won't work for your rig but possibly for someone else. I have a pass through storage on the front of my TT. I took 1 1/2 PVC and drilled a large hole in one side, small hole directly on the other. This allowed me to drive a screw through the small hole into the studs on the roof of my pass through. I did several of them in a row. I could then slide one pole in each tube, from each side. Total 2 poles per tube. They are now up on the ceiling of the storage and out of the way.
