How to handle split stay

So...we have a split stay First few days at Art of Animation and the second part at Pop Century. Our plan is to switch over the day we go to Universal. Anyway I'm wondering how you manuver a split stay...when I check into Art of Animation do I let them know we have a stay at Pop right after? Do I need to check out and move my bags over to Pop (someone said Disney will move our bags for us but want to be sure)? Should I request an early check in or just go to Universal and check into pop whenever were done at Universal (which would probably be rather late...)? Any tips to make it go as smooth as possible

No you don’t have to tell AoA you’re moving. They know what day you’re checking out. But you may want to ask them how they handle luggage transfer to Pop. They will move your luggage for you. But I’m not sure if you have to bring luggage down yourself to Bell Service or if they will come get it.

Yes, just go to Pop after you return from Universal. You should get a text saying when your room is ready and room #. When you get up to room phone down to Bell Service and they’ll bring up luggage.

On your online check in there is a place to give the approximate time you’ll be checking in and checking out.

We do split stays all the time. We let the first resort know that we want the luggage moved to the 2nd hotel and call bell services about an hour before we are ready to check out. They will come take the luggage and give you a receipt. You can go to Universal and check in when you get back - or you can check in after you check out of the 1st resort and then go to Universal. It is really no problem at all. I doubt your room will be ready that early - but it can't hurt to check.
