How to go about getting cheap tickets~!

Hi I want to find cheap tickets and then plan our trip around them for next Feb or March! Is this a good strategy? I am in the Allentown, Reading, Phili area! Please help....I don't know where to start!!!!

It's hard to find cheap flights to Florida in the winter months.

And it's almost impossible if you are going President's Day week, or just about any time in March (Easter is March 23 next year).
