I am booked for the 11th-18th of May and I want to extend the trip to a 10 day vacation. I want to book the other 2 nights with my AAA discount but I am not sure how to go about adding that onto my existing ressie.

What is the best way to do this? I am thinking of moving my 4/3 ressies from the 9th-16th, then making another ressie from the 16th through 19th. I understand I will probably have to check out and check back in, and possibly have my room switched. What is the easiest way to do it? Any advice?

Looking back at this, this probably seems like the dumbest question ever lol. Sorry!

As far as I know, if you want to stay under the same reservation, all you need to do is call and extend your trip 2 extra nights, based on availability. You wouldn't however be able to use the AAA discount as the last 2 nights would fall under the 4/3 rate. You can also call AAA and ask them to book you for the last 2 nights under the AAA rate, then when you check in, let the front desk know that instead of x nights, you have extended your ressie an additional 2 nights and you would like to remain in the same room. They may or may not be able to accodomate you. You will need to "check-in" again. You might also consider just booking a 2 night room only reservation, then if any public codes come along, you may be able to apply them to your room.. Hope this was helpful and Good Luck!

Correct that you will not be able to have a WDTC package and just add two (non-WDTC) nights onto your package. (AAA or not.)
WDTC and room only are two sepaarte entities and cannot be combined onto one res.

I would do the 4/3 offer for your first 7 nights, but get 10 day tickets on that ressie because it is only about $10 to get 10 days from your 7 day tix. Then I would book the AAA rate for room only for the last 2. This way you still have tix for the whole time. If you have dining, you would still have it the first seven nights, plus until midnight on "check-out" day (from the 1st ressie), so really, you would only need dining oop for the last day.

We have done this twice, once with a 1-night stay at the end of the trip, once with a 1-night stay at the beginning of the trip (prior to free dining). So I am telling you this from experience.

Yup, you'll probably want 2 ressies - one for the 4+3, and one for room only with AAA discount. You can book a AAA ROOM ONLY discount directly through Disney, and they will link the two reservations. (You cannot book AAA packages through Disney.) Just let Disney know you have a continuing reservation..make sure both reservations are for the same room type (one isn't for a preferred room). When you check in on the first ressie, again confirm with the desk that you have a continuing reservation. THEN, the day BEFORE your first ressie ends, go to the front desk and AGAIN confirm that the ressies are linked and that you want to stay in the same room. If at any point someone tells you..."no problem", get their NAME so you can refer to them later if their is a problem...."Well, Drake Longhorn told me..."

THEN, on the day you have to change over, go to the front desk first thing in the AM and again explain what you are doing - it will probably be easy-peasy, but we ran into problems..without going into a long story, they told us "No problem" at check-in, and then 5 days later told us, "our computers are down for service for 2 days, we scheduled you in a different room and we can't change it"..then told me that my AAA ressie was for a preffered room so I HAD to move...once I proved to them that it was NOT for a prefferred room, they accommadated me and kept us in our room.

Hope that helps!

Many options here...

First, if you are doing dining plan, then extend your existing one by adding the extra days. You cannot get dining on room only rez. If it's the night you arrive or the night you depart, then no problem. Or you won't have dining during those days.

Making a 2nd rez, would imply you get 1day base tickets at $75 a piece which you would probably save for the future. If you extend your original rez, the extra days in tickets would be probably less than $10, and if you opted for water or hopper, you would also have that.

If you are not doing the dining plan, then your best option is to add room-only to the end and maybe just the first day, using the new room-only codes or AAA discount. You would then extend your tickets from your package to 10 days. Noting the 2nd rez on your package rez, would not guarantee it but you might not have to switch rooms.

Note that adding days to the front part of your package is tricky as it is difficult (but not impossible) to the tickets from your package rez ahead of time. You would need to talk to a manager CM that knows how to do this.

Good points - I was assuming the OP was not worried about extending any Disney Dining - that would not be possible with a room only res.

Also, adding room-only days at the beginning is problematic for ticket your park tickets, but it looked like OP knew that...he wanted to keep the package for his first 7 days and then add room-only days after that. Your ticket extends 14 days after you first use it, so that is why it is preferrable to add the days at the end as a room-only...you continue to use the ticket from the package.

Thanks Pete! I actually think it will work out better to add a couple days at the end of the ressie anyway since it won't be weekend rates. I am not doing the DDP since it is just me and my toddler, so I don't have to worry about that.

I will just have to call Disney and find out the discounted rates :) Thanks again!

PS. I am a she ;)
