We're staying at POR in October. My family would like to try Trail's End at FW. How do I get there? I assume I have to take the boat from MK to FW but where do I go from there? How long would it take to get from MK to the restaurant? Thanks for the help.

Maggie

From MK is about i5 minutes and we enjoy it is nice view and fun trip. After you dock at FW it is short walk to Trails Inn less than 5 minute walk.

Just went last Sunday and it was delicious! Good food and service! Have a great trip!:thumbsup2

We stay at the CBR and we take the bus to MK then get on a boat and go to Trail's End (I am scared of water, deep water but it was ok.)

I hope this doesnt sound too stupid but in relationship to the buses....where are the MK docks to catch the ferry to Fort Wilderness.....I dont recall seeing it.

Thanks!! I havent taken a ferry to the MK in ages!!!! Now I remember duh lol

If we are staying at Wilderness Lodge is it easy to get there?? (Not sure where fort wilderness is in relation to the lodge - thanks!!):thumbsup2

You can either walk on the path from one to the other or take the boat between WL and FW.

oh OK - fine for me - not sure about DS's 3 and 6 - perhaps we'll take the bus!!:lmao:

The boat is a better option, because the bus will drop you at the Outpost, then you'll have to take an internal bus to Pioneer Hall. The boat lets you off very close to Pioneer Hall and will be much quicker than the bus.

Actually the bus from WL drops off at Settlement, about the same distance from T.E. as the boat dock. In the AM(before 3pm) the boat route will be WL,CR,FW,WL after 3pm it will be WL,FW,CR,WL.
So all other things being equal(waiting for the bus/boat) the boat and bus will be about the same getting to T.E., the bus would be faster going home.

The bus is part of the internal bus system, it is actually the Orange one. So it also makes a very easy trip from WL to the campfire show.
The route(starting at WL) would be something like this....WL to Settelment, to 600/800 loop(campfire show), to 900/1000 (also Meadows Trading Post, walkway to pool), to 1100/1200 & 1300, then to Outpost, then back to 1100 and so on all the way back to WL. The buses(usually 2) make this loop from 7am to 2am everyday.

Incidentally, this is probably stating the obvious, but you can also get to FW from the other parks too, via bus. From another resort, except WL, you'd probably want to go to a park first or take a taxi.
