Are you all sick of me and my never ending questions yet?!?!?!? :teeth: Anyway, since we are going on our way way out west trip I thought my kids should see the pacific or stick their feet in it or something like that hee-hee but we do not plan on renting a car. I've looked into some tours for other things but not for the beach/ocean.....Any suggestions?

Thanks so much!
Dawn

If you don't want to rent a car, a taxi would be your next best bet. Renting a car for the day would probably be cheaper though. Taking the bus would take a very long time. We have lousy public transportation in Orange County.

which would be the closest...easiest beach to get to? Somewhere the kids could play and walk around a bit?

Thanks again

It would be really pretty expensive to take a taxi though as the beach is kind of far especially in traffic,so keep that in mind. It's 20 or 30 minutes no traffic and there tends to be traffic at odd times of day here. I think the closest would be Huntington Beach, but it's not the nicest. If you were able to I'd suggest Laguna Beach or something further south.

So if I did rent a car just for the day to do the beach stuff is there a car rental company that would deliver the car and pick up from my hotel...since we are flying in and won't have any way to get it otherwise?

Thanks so much!

so how far is laguna beach?

:) Dawn

Hmm, I'm not positive. That would probably be best to ask your hotel, they would know best about that kind of thing. Renting a car for the day really would be the best though. Laguna Beach is a little over 30 minutes or so,usually a bit longer with traffic from Anaheim.

We rode the bus to Huntington Beach a few years ago. My neighbor and I thought it was a great idea, but his wife & kids weren't too thrilled about it taking over an hour to get there (we didn't think it would take so long but it made a ton of stops). Let me just put it this way, it was an adventure. We didn't want to pay for a rental car (one that would hold 7 was too expensive) and we really didn't think about a taxi. The sad thing was once we got to the beach, the sky was really gloomy and the water was too cold. I don't think I'd ride the bus again.
