If I'm at DTD how do I get to the nearest Walmart? We will be at WDW in 4 weeks and like to go shopping at the Marketplace. We would also like to checkout Walmart for T-shirts to bring back as gifts. I just need to know how to get there. When I look on the Walmart site I don't know which store is near DTD.

Thanks for any help!!

From Downtown Disney, turn left and continue onto Hotel Resorts Blvd. At the light, turn right (Crossroads would be straight). Continue straight for a couple miles, it's on the right. I was there a couple of weeks ago, it's a new store.

I didn't know that... was planning to go to the one in Kissimmee, tell me is this one a super-store too and open 24 hrs....no can't live without Wal*Mart :thumbsup2 also anyone know if there is a BJs Wholesale Club any where around? :rotfl: :rotfl: Laugh if you want, staying off-site and save $$$$$ for snacks, meals, and the always needed dog food

The new Walmart described above is also very near Kissimme.
It is a really nice new store and had quite a few t-shirts for $5
also a nice selection of disney items at good prices!!!

There is also another Super Walmart on 192 - near the 14th
sign post I believe!!

You can go to the walmart website and map from there
from where you are staying.

I was there two weeks ago and the newer store is much
nicer and has better selection!!!

Have fun!

I just posted on the budget board about finding this one - we were there in January and thought it was great. thanks for the directions. I wish I knew the name of the street that it is on!!

Thanks,
Annette

The store described above is on the 535, between International Drive and the 192. No, you would not want to walk there from DD, as it's several miles away, plus you'd be crossing a few MAJOR intersections (like the one for I-4). The one that I know of in Kissimmee on the 192 is located right by the Mideval Times restaurant, which is several more miles away from DD and the first Wal-Mart. Also, on the 192, just 2 lights east of the 535, is a Sam's Club, for those interested in that.

I am extremely directionally challenged but saw these directions and thought that even I could find the WM. However, I drove down toward Crossroads, turned right and went down a good 5 miles or more and never did find the WM. There was a lot of road construction and such so maybe it confused me. Is it back off the road? Is there something in front that I might use as a marker to find it on our next trip?

We stay at the AS Sports and I have finally figured out how to go up past AK, turn left on Sherborn( sp?) and get to a major highway up there. Is there a WM in that area as well? If so, can anyone help me find it?

It is only my love of WDW and the fact that I only have to take 3 major roads that enables me to find my way there. After twenty years I can now do it without a map. :rotfl2:

Well we'll be staying in the Kissimmee area this trip so might as well go to the one that I'm familiar with, past Medevial Times that you mentioned, don't know if I want to waste time after being on the road forever looking for it :moped: thanks though.

Oh, and yes, both of those Wal-Marts are 24 hour super stores (with the grocery). At least, I think they're 24 hour stores, as I've been in each of them as late (or early) as 1-2am. :)

There is also a Super WalMart at the Osceola exit of the FL Turnpike.
Exit the Tpk and go west, it's on your right. :sunny:

It is about a mile past 536/World Center Dr. on 535/Vineland Rd. Past a smaller outlet mall on the left and under the 417/Florida greenway bridge. There is a Hess Gas station and the wal-mart branded/partnered gas station in front also (the one where you save 3 cents per gallon when using the gift card).

Nice new store, went there alot during my college program in the fall.

Yes, there is a BJ,s off I 4. We found it on our last trip. But the water we bought was bad.

We will be coming from Port Canaveral after our cruise and plan to stop at this new WalMart. Does anyone know if there is a laundry matt near here? After a week cruising we will be in Orlando for two more weeks and will need to do wash. Thought it would be easier than doing it at the resort.

Thanks for all the helpful info...it's much appreciated, especially the BJs location and the tip about their water, :confused3 wouldn't think the water was any different at each BJs ? Will keep it in mind though and get it someplace else.....you'd think I would get off this computer already and finish packing :hourglass :surfweb: :rotfl2: 'nah too much fun here

We make at least one trip to the Super Wal-Mart on every trip. Sometimes, we go before we check-in which means we are there about 10 p.m. We pick up cereal, bread, fruit, bagels, water, etc. We were happy to discover the newer, closer one on our trip last Sept. :goodvibes

On our last trip, my sisters, niece and I, downloaded our digital cards at Walmart once, and once again at Sam's Club during our trip. (Sam's was the better deal-more pictures on one disc :goodvibes ) This time, I bought an additional card(1G) so hopefully I won't have to do it this trip.

We love going to Sam's Club during our trip! Sometimes I'll even drop off my film (from disposable cams, and when I use my SLR) for 1 hr. processing, grab a quick bite (pizza combo) run over to the older Super Wal-Mart for souvenirs, and then go back to Sam's and pickup my pix. This way I don't have to worry about accidently exposing my undeveloped film to those nasty airport xrays.

No, its a couple of miles.

Like 2 miles? Are there sidewalks? Reason I ask is that we walk several miles a day and wouldn't have a problem getting there if it's under 5 miles or so roundtrip and there is a safe place to push the stroller. Thanks!

TinkerbellMama, whatever you do, do not, I repeat, do not try to walk to the WM down from Crossroads. It is a heavily traveled road with no sidewalks and several interstate exchanges. :sad2:

There IS a grocery and shopping center at Crossroads that you could get to from DTD but the prices are very high and there is not a whole lot of choices but it is better than risking your next out on the highway. :confused3

If you really want to go it might be worth a cab fare for you as it is not a long distance though. :sunny:

If I was going to be there when you are I would take you on a shopping trip though. :sunny:
