How to get to HDDR from MK? Help for newbie!

I apologize because I know this questions has been asked before, but I can't find an answer to my specific question when I search.
How do I get to the HDDR from MK? We are staying offsite, and have 5pm reservations. We plan to come back to MK afterwards.
My confusion is that I had called Disney, and they told me I had to take a bus there, but when I look on the boards, everyone is tallking about a boat. Where do you get the boat?
This is our first trip to Disney-sorry for my ignorance!

There are several boat docks in front of the Magic Kingdom. I believe you need to take the boat going to Ft. Wilderness.. should be a piece of cake

It is very easy, as you walk towards the security check of the MK just keep to your left, there are signs for the boats that go to the GF, Poly, WL and Fort Wilderness. Just get on the boat to FW, this takes you to the dock, walk up the dock, bear to your left and the hall for the Hoopdedoo is right there.
To get back to the MK, just walk back to the dock and take a boat to the MK

Thank you! It sounds very easy! How much time should I allot to get there-they say to arrive by 4:30.

I would arrive at the dock at the MK by 4:00, no later than 4:15 since you may have to wait for a boat.

The beauty of FW is that there really is a ton of different stuff to do there. Be it the petting zoo, or just sitting on the rocking chairs out front people watching.

Check it out, you may want to leave much earlier.
