We are staying at POP and will not have access to our own car or any other transportation other than buses or other disney transportation. How can we get to BC for Cape May breakfast for 7:50am? And how long is it really going to take us?

Gosh, that is a toughie. I can't think of an easy way to do it. If the Studios opens early that day, you could take a bus over there and then a boat to Boardwalk. You'd have to allow yourself at least an hour to 90 minutes though.

Otherwise, your best bet might be to get a cab.

Maybe someone else will come along with a better idea!

I should add epcot has EMH that day and open at 8am if that makes a difference?

The problem with Epcot is that the bus from Pop will let you off at the front gate, and the boat to/from Boardwalk is at the International Gateway in World Showcase, which you won't be able to access until after Epcot opens.

I've always wanted to try the character breakfast there but have always run into the transportation dilema. If Epcot has EMH, world showcase wont. It's just the front part of the park. World Showcase is how you would get through over to the boardwalk/boat area. We have waited at DHS for the boat to take us to the resort area to eat and it can be a long time. I wouldn't take that route b/c you would have to wait for the bus at Pop, get to DHS, walk over and stand in line for the ferry for who knows how long and then do the stops til you got to the resort. I would suggest taking a cab! Quick and easy, only you have to pay. We took a cab from Pop to the Swan. They have cabs waiting at Pop, or atleast they did when we were there. It was pricey though for the one way. Hope it works out for you. Have a great trip. :)

Another option (if you are willing) is to try to reschedule Cape May on a day when the studios opens early OR book another character breakfast (Ohana or Chef Mickeys) on the monorail loop, so all you'd have to do is take the bus to MK.

Disney transportation is great most of the time but it does have its limitations.

Actually you can access the International Gateway before the World Showcase opens on EMH mornings. They have ropes blocking the way into the 'worlds' but not the gateway. But you still couldn't make an 7:50 am ADR in time.

take a cab, that's about the only way to get from your resort to Cape May in time for a 7:50 ADR, if you don't have your own car.

Might think about getting a late breakfast reservation instead - like 10:30...then go to Epcot for the early EMH, taking the bus. If you're starving, have a pastry in Sunshine Seasons. Do the attractions in Future World, then walk back to the International gateway around 10:00 -- should get you to Cape May in time to check in about 10 min. before your 10:30 adr.

By the way, they will actually let you walk through WS to get to the International Gateway, even if the World Showcase is not open yet. Just tell the CMs "guarding" the rope that you have an ADR at Beach Club. Keep in mind that all people staying at Boardwalk/Beach Club come into the park for EMH through the I. Gateway, so Disney is prepared with roped walk-way every day of the week because EMH or not, Future World always opens before World Showcase. They also have to let people through for breakfast ADRs at Akershus/Norway in the World Showcase, so there are always castmembers around back there to show the way (and make sure you don't wander off the allowed path, lol.)

Won't work to get to Beach Club before 8:00 a.m. though--only let you walk through after the EMH opens.

Can't you do a bus from Pop to the front door of EPCOT and then change busses at EPCOT to one for the Beach Club/yacht club or even the Dolphin?
that way you don't have to get to a park and walk the whole way to the other side of it and then wait for a boat.
If you do walk through epcot to get to the gateway exit, I would just walk to the BC and not wait for a boat. It would be closer and faster than where the boat drops you off.

Might be able to switch at the TTC too but I'm not sure the hours the busses run there. Bus to Ticket and transportation center from Pop and then switch to a BeachClub bus.

Definitely give it a good hour+. Just don't let the rush ruin your morning.
Alternative is to go to a character breakfast inside EPCOT or an easier location. The character breakfast buffets have pretty standard stuff at all of them (with a few little exceptions).

I would say that a taxi is your best option. The EPCOT resorts do not have busses that go to the front of the park (Beach Club, Boardwalk, Swan and Dolphin). The only way to get to Epcot from those resorts or back to the resorts from Epcot is by walking out the International Gateway and then walking to the resorts or taking the friendship boat.
Hopefully you can make it work out, we have always had a great time at the Cape May Cafe Breakfasts.

I vote taxi for an ADR at that time. Pop can call a taxi for you, I would have it pick you up btw 7:15 and 7:30. That is the easiest, least stressful way to get there. Pop is pretty close, should be around $10 or so for the taxi

Have fun! :cool1:

We ate at Cape May for breakfast last November. It was delicious and lots of fun character interaction. To get there from POFQ we took a bus to Hollywood Studios and then took the boat to the boardwalk. It took us quite a while to get there but it was definitely worth it.

For that early time I would suggest a cab as well. It was about $15 to go from the BC to the Poly for an 8am ADR.

There is an early bus that we took to the MK one day for an early ADR around 8. I think it came about 7:15 and there was only one other family besides ours. It dropped that family off at the Contemporary and us at the MK. The only problem with the bus was that no one had an actual time. I was told 7, the other family 7:30, both by the front desk. We were outside waiting and they luckily were running early. I have no idea about the actual scheduled stops either. The driver just asked where we were all going. Had the bus been busy maybe it would have skipped the Contemporary and let those people walk from the MK. Anyway thats why I would suggest the cab.
