How to get to Beaches & Cream?

So, we have a free afternoon on our May schedule, and we're thinking about getting the "kitchen sink" since we've heard so much about it! But we're not staying at the Epcot Resorts (we are staying on-site at POFQ) We will have a car--can we drive to the Beach Club resort...I believe all the resorts have manned security gates, don't they? Will they let us park at the resort to go to Beaches & Cream, and possibly some of the shops over there?
(We're also interested in checking out some of the Boardwalk shops, too.)

Hi,

Yes, you can park at the BC. Just let them know you are there to eat at B&C and to do some shopping.

If visiting Epcot that day just exit park at the international exit and walk to the Beaches and Cream.

We went twice. Once we parked at BC and the other time at the Boardwalk and just walked around. It was a nice walk.
