How to get rid of RUST?

Any ideas? I bought a beautiful vintage piece of luggage and there are some rusted connectors inside. Anyone know how to get rust off metal???

have you tried CLR? It's in a green bottle in the cleaning supplies isle. It's supposed to take out Calcium, Lime and Rust. Maybe give it a try?

We sometimes take off rust using a dremel tool.

I actually have some CLR AND WD40 somewhere in the house, I'll check that out! I tried the steel wool and even aluminum foil (read that tidbit on DIY) but the connectors are so tiny it's hard to get a grip on it. I need something that I can dip them in.

I use navel jelly on my tire rims. I have also used it on rust on the exhaust. Cheap and available at KMart, Wal-Mart, auto supply stores.
