How to get picked for the AK parade?

Has anyone here gotten picked in the Animal Kingdom parade?

I know that several families ride along in the parade and would to know how they do it !

Does anyone have any tips?

We were asked to be in the parade last year. Our group actually split up for a little bit and DH and I were walking together into one of the shops and 2 Disney cast members approached us with a clipboard-asking us questions about the size of our group. There was 6 of us, 4 adults and 2 kids, anyway, we answered their questions and they then just asked us if we would like to be in the afternoon's parade! This was only about 45 minutes before the parade was to begin, and boy did we have to hustle to get everyone to the meeting spot in time. You could possibly keep your eyes open for people with clipboards, and maybe talk about how cool it would be to be in the parade-wink, wink. and hope they pick you. Good luck!

We were picked for the AK parade during our last trip in 2002. I think you just have to be in the right place at the right time! We were sitting in Tusker House after lunch looking at a guidebook I had created for our trip. They approached us and asked to look at my book and then asked if we were going to the parade. I think they mentioned the GOH badges that our children were wearing, too. IMO, they are looking for unsuspecting people. It was truly a magical experience - all the more so because we weren't expecting it!! Our kids still remember the names of the cast members who asked us - Leigh & Jay!
