We just got a new airline at our airport but it only flies into Sanford airport. Has anyone flown into there? How do you get to WDW from there? We don't to rent a car. Is there a town car service we can get? Thanks

Yes there are towncar services. Expect to pay about $180.- $200. plus tip for the round trip.

I flew into Sanford in April..great deal with Direct Air. And doing it again in Oct. BUT...you have to balance the airfare costs with what it will cost to get from Sanford to WDW. A car service will run about $200. There are no shuttles there, so you either rent a car or you book a car service. The drive is an easy one...fairly simple and direct.

Well I am going down next week to see my friend who works at DHS and go around the parks with her, and I fly in to Orlando/Sandford and was just wondering about shuttles too. My friend thought she had her shift covered for that day, but now she will be working when I arrive. There are NO shuttles at all that go anywhere? I had figured the cost of flying would be cheaper than me driving down all by myself, but not if I have to pay to get from the airport to either WDW or our hotel. I'm kinda thinking flying is going to end up being more expensive than driving. :sad2:

The only shuttle service is one that will cost $200 plus tip from Sanford to Disney. And $200 is one way. You are better off renting a car.

Wow. Well the thing is I would only need a car for that one day when I arrive. My friend would be driving her car the rest of the time.

Either rent just for the one day....you can return it somewhere on WDW property depending on which company you use.
Or book a car service for the one way trip. I am assuming your friend will be driving you back to Sanford?? If so, a car service will probably run about $100 plus tip.

You would do better renting a car one way and drop off in WDW (Alamo and National).

I looked into the "cheaper" fares at our local airport and found they got in after 10:00PM, which National showed that it was closed. So if our flight was late, we would not be able to get a rental car...Everytime someone locally mentioned the new airlines at our local airports, I point out the cost of getting to and from the airport, plus the extras, since this new airline charges for seat assignments and luggage. I just stick with Jetblue out of Dulles, cheaper fares, no fees, and into MCO. Folks need to remember to check the total cost when going with the "cheaper" or local small airports.
