We will be eating at Ohanas for dinner on the day we arrive. My question is what is the best way to get from POR to the Poly. We will have our car. But, I wasn't sure if it would be just as easy to use Disney transportation. Because after two days of driving we might be a little tired of being in our car.

We took a bus to the Magic Kingdom and rode the Monorail to the Poly. That way the kids got a glimpse of what was in store.

If you dont want to spoil the MK suprize then you can take a bus to Downtown Disney then hop a bus to the Poly but the wait may be longer depending on how long you have to wait for the bus.

That's the fastest way (without driving).

You could also take the bus to Epcot and take the Monorail to the TTC. Change to the Resort monorail and go to the Poly (if you want a nice long monorail ride)

I'd just drive over. It's about a ten minute drive, you need to plan on at least 30-40 minutes by WDW transportation.

we went from POFQ to ohanas our last trip

we took the bus to MK and hopped the monorail

very easy

Thanks for all of the help. I knew there was a way and now I know how. We really didn't want to drive. Once we get to Disney, we like to stay out of our car until we leave. But its nice to know we have it if we need it.

Arrgh...last June, for our anniversary, we used Disney transport to get from POFQ to O'Hanas. We took bus to MK, then monorail to Poly, and it took almost 90 minutes! NEVER AGAIN! HATED Disney bus system...nothing more frustrating than waiting in line for a bus back to the resort after MGM closes. We were 35 minutes in line; finally got on the third bus and had standing room only. If only we'd driven, I could have been in BED in less time than it took to get on the bus! If we EVER stay on site again, we will have our own vehicle!

We always use our rental car for things just like this. We drove over to the Poly to eat. Took lots less time. Much nicer to just hop in the car and come home. The map the resort gave us made driving around so easy. My DH had all the roads memorized after just a few days. He had "his routes" all mapped out in his head. Cracks me up. He got us where we needed to go each day and quickly.
