We will be going to IOA next week. We have never been before and I was wondering what was the best route from the entrance of IOA to WWOHP.

Also, is there a play area near or on the way so my dad and little ones can play while we go on the FJ?

The quickest way is via Sneech Beach in Seuss Landing. You will make a left as soon as you turn into Suess Landing and follow the walkway past Green Eggs & Ham. There is a play are right as you enter the area called "If I Ran The Zoo" which is an interactive play area. They can also enjoy the other attractions in the area while they are waiting.

From entrance, go straight until you see water, then turn right towards Seuss and follow Metro's directions above. You are basically trying to hug the water through Seuss using the "Zax Bypass". At the end, you will turn left and go across a bridge into Lost Continent. Follow path straight through to WWoHP.

I don't know if they've changed their procedure or if it was just an "incredibly busy day" thing, but we were there last year on the day after Thanksgiving and we entered as soon as the park opened. They wouldn't let anyone go toward the Seuss area. They guided the whole crowd to the left and around the park that way (through Jurassic, etc). We'll be there around the same time this year. I hope they let us go through Seuss.

There was a time when they would route onsite guests through Seuss and offsite guests around through Marvel and on to Jurassic. I haven't heard many reports of this lately.
