How to get from CDG Airport to Marriott Village? (or bus station?)

Hi all! Leaving for France this Friday, so psyched!!! we are staying for a week at the Marriott Village d'Ile de France and then 2 nights at the Marriott Champs Elysees. I am most concerned about how to get from the airport (Charles Degalle) to the Marriott Village. I see that Disneyland Paris has a shuttle bus that goes from CDG to all of the Disneyland hotels and to "the bus station." I wish there was more elaboration than that on the website, but there is not!! I know that there is a bus (#57) that goes from Disneyland Paris to the Marriott hotel- does anyone know if that bus arrives at "the bus station"? Has anyone tried taking this shuttle to get to the Marriott resort? My other option would be to take the metro but I'd prefer the Disney shuttle since they'd be more prepared for tourists with a bunch of luggage =)
Any tips on how to get there would be awesome. Also if anyone traveled from the Marriott into Paris, I'd be interested to know how that is! I know there is a metro station by Disneyland (again via the 57 bus) just not sure about cost and how long it takes.

Can't wait for my trip and to visit Disney!!! This is our first time and we are super excited! Thanks in advance for anyone who has some tips for a confused American first timer =)

Hi jellibean . Elaine, Jackie, Elaine and Reid welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:

We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here, DIS posting guidelines can be found here.

With the time difference it will be later on before others who have experience of the Marriott can help you :)

Hi there and welcome.

We love the Marriott so much, we own there, but I must confess, we drive there from the UK. But with 51 trips to DLP under my belt, I hope to help.

Here are the details of the shuttle from Charles de Gaulle to DLP:

http://www.vea.fr/uk/vea-bus-timetable.asp

You take the bus from the airport to the DLP Coach Station. From there, there is a bus stop to Marriott where you can change buses to go to the resort. Please be advised there is a limited timetable for the free bus, so you may wish to call Marriott directly to confirm times.

There is also a frequent paid service that stops outside the gates of the Marriott resort (route 34), but it is not great with lots of luggage.

How many people are in your party? If it is more than 2, you may prefer to consider a chauffer or private shuttle service straight to the resort (or call the concierge at Marriott for help). It may work out cheaper and is certainly easier (I hate the normal shuttle to DLP I have to say).

Then you do the reverse to get to the train station to go into Paris at the end of your week.

For more info on the resort, check out Werner's very good write up with pictures:

also, be sure to check out Provins while you are there, a wonderful 13th century market town with live demonstrations of medieval weaponry, equestrian skills and falconry. It is fairly cheap and less than an hour away from DLP. A real treasure, and to be honest, more interesting than many of the sights of Paris.

Champagne Tasting in Rheims (where the kings of France were coronated - not Paris) is a good option too.

Any further questions, let me know.

The Marriott will arrange a shuttle or car to pick you up at the airport. I have used a shuttle which seats 7 even though we are only 4 because of the amount of luggage & buggies we had! It cost 87 euro per journey (although I think it is more on a Sunday). The car would be cheaper. It is possible to go VEA bus & then #57, but with 2 young children & all the luggage, I didn't fancy it! If you phone the Marriott, they will be happy to arrange it for you. If you have any other questions, please ask.

Thank you all so much!! I checked out the schedule for bus 57 and it doesn't come all that often! I'm not sure if I really want to start out the trip shlepping from bus to bus (and possibly waiting up to 1.5 hours!), so I will definitely call the hotel about a shuttle, I didn't realize that was an option, thanks!! 87 euros isn't too bad, I was looking at taxi prices and that would be much more expensive. The VEA shuttle is 16 each, so with me and my hubby that is 32 each, might as well swing for the 87 and get a nice cozy shuttle =) I'm going to call early tomorrow morning and hopefully they can arrange that. Thanks again, you all have been so helpful! It was overwhelming to try to find this information online.. so much of it was in French and my French is limited to: "je m'apele Janine, parle vu engle?" and clearly the spelling is an issue =)

If there are only 2 of you, then a car would do & would be cheaper than the shuttle (sorry, don't remember the price). Everyone at the reception I met could speak English, but it doesn't matter if your driver does because he will be waiting at arrivals with a board saying either your name or Marriott & you just follow him to the car. Have a great time & I'm sure you'll love the Marriott - we did!
