I am going to WDW in June (it will be my second time going in the past 5 years).

But recently I am not excited anymore :sad1: and I am not sure why!
Maybe its because I am friends with some cast members on twitter and they tweet things about how they hate it there and insulting guests.

I was excited like about a month ago but now I am not. I think it could be anxiety or something

I thought I was the only one who went through this..

What I did which really helped was to visit my local Disney store. I went in to mill around and a CM asked if she could help me. I told her I needed to get into the Disney mood. She and I ended up chatting for awhile. Now we have become good friends and I always stop in to chat with her and the other CM. They are both now DIS members.

I find reading other people completed trip reports helps too.

Plus having the holiday's right here on our heals doesn't help. We are so preoccupied with other things and not able to enjoy the thought of a upcoming trip.

You are definitely not alone when it comes to lack of excitement of going to the world. I don't greet excited for anything any more. I used to be a huge Disney Fanatic but these days i don't care if i never go again.it might be because i am 27 but feel like i am 60. I feel run down and don't care about anything any more. It's like i just realized i am not a kid any more and the magic feeling you get when seeing the magical express or the castle is gone.

But i hope in 2014 i change but i highly doubt it. So you are not alone in the lack of excitement department.

Read these boards! And remember that just because magic has died for some does not mean it HAS to die for you! I have seen rude guests, I have seen rude CMs but if you really look, you'll see that this place brings A LOT of happiness to others. Maybe be a part of the solution, on this trip, maybe make it a mission to smile at the grumpy, give a sticker to a kid, offer encouragement to overwhelmed parents And keep the magic alive for kids. It all leaves too quick in this world. You may be more excited of you become a part of the magic just for fun.

This truely saddens me. At 48 I still love see the castle and main street and riding toy story and sace and splash and soarin. And I love visiting the countries and just sitting somewhere every day and taking it all in. The magic is still there for me but really its in me first. Somethong I do every trip is try something new that I havent done before. That way I am having a new exprrience to look forward to.

I wouldn't let what CMs say on Twitter get you down. A job is a job and as such CMs see a very different side of things. Making magic is very different then being on the receiving end. Customer service is stressful and are likely blowing off some steam.

I truly don't mean any offense, but it sounds like you may be suffering from depression. Losing interest in Disney as you get older is something I imagine many people experience as they move on to other life interests. It sounds like from your post though that you don't get excited or joyful about anything which may be a sign of depression. :(

Totally can't relate - when we make a decision to make ressies, we are ready and excited to go - pixiedust:

There's all kinds of talk on the Dis about complaining about this or that, but we don't listen, and make our own happiness. (have been going to Disney since 1972).

This is me in a nutshell :thumbsup2. I'm 46 and still get excited every single time we start to plan a trip and we too try to do something different on each trip. We have a trip planned in August and we're staying at a new resort we've never tried. We're planning to eat at two new restaurants we've never been to and I, personally, am challenging myself to try at least one new ride that I've always been too scared to ride.

In response to the OP's remarks: If there's one thing I have learned over the years it is to NOT allow anyone else's negativity ruin anything for me. There are always going to be miserable people everywhere, unfortunately, I just choose to not allow myself to get wrapped into their "madness", as I like to call it. And I've learned to do that many many years ago when a wise person once told me that "no one can make you feel inferior (or drag you down) unless you allow it"...truer words have never been spoken.

I agree with this poster. Your comment concerned me, although I don't know you. It does sound like depression.

Do you know what that ride will be yet?

Well, I am almost 63 and I love pondering my Disney time. In fact, I have 112 days until I am there again. This time with my older daughter and her 2 children. I am just as excited today as I was last year planning a trip with 2 of my dear friends. We went in August and we had an awesome time...I really don't know what to tell you to get excited, but, think about what you have done in the past and what was special and do it over again. Do afternoon tea at the GF Garden View Tea Room. Make some shirts, plan a carriage ride, watch Disney movies...I have to admit, last August, when it was time to leave Main St. USA after Wishes, I sat and cried like a baby, yep, I ending up crying thru several tissues and eventually my 2 friends did as well, and to be honest I think the gentleman next to us shed a few tears, I am sure he was trying not to, but, we were crying!!!!!

Listen to Disney movie soundtracks or park music loops! My sister recommends the Magic Kingdom park loop. Watch some Disney films you haven't seen, or ones that are dear to you. Check out some planning guides to find out about new attractions or changes to the parks! All in all, if these tips don't work for you, don't force it. You'll probably become more excited as the trip gets closer. Hope this helps! :)

Watch some you tube videos that people have posted recently showing off what you will soon be visiting. Listen to music from the parks. Start making a list of the things you are looking forward to doing that you so enjoyed the last trip. I have 2 girls 7 &3, we will watch the movies that have rides themed for them, and watch you tube videos of the parades, and shows, and of rides they have not ridden yet, but will on our next visit to get them excited,
