I have read many threads about getting kids excited to go but what about DH? He doesn't mind going but I am more excited. I have been to WDW many times and he has been to disney twice before, once as a day trip with his family and then the two of us went in 2002. I was sick the second half of the trip so it really took out of the fun.
Anyway, any ideas on what to do to get him excited to go? Like I said he is glad to be going on vacation but Disney is more of my thing. hmmm. . . I don't think it matters but he is 30.
Thanks!

On our last trip we gave him the Richard Petty Driving Ex. before we left. He was excited and couldn't wait to drive the racing car. If you do this you can get a 10% discount by having the orlando magic card. Just told them when I ordered it and they took the discount right off. Enjoy!

I feel your pain.......

I've started refering to our trip next month.....38 days thank you very much....as "the golf tournament". We'll be there for the FUNAI classic, which for DH is better than Disney!! It also helped when I told him how much I've been tucking away for spending and food! He was shocked!

Unfortunately, the fact is, he may not get excited beforehand. It's painful for me to say it, but DH doesn't get excited about going. But once he's there, if (I mean, when) he's golfing, he has a lot of fun. And the most excited I've ever seen him was after the Richard Petty Driving Experience. It took days to wipe the grin off his face! But he never gets excited until we get there.

What does he like to do...maybe put the kids in the clubs for a few hours or hire and in room sitter so you two can do some adult activities on your own.

Drinking/eating around the world showcase.
Segway tour.
Nice dinner.
Golfing on his own or with you if you enjoy that together.
Spa treatment.

Disney is great for adults..you just have to show your hubby the adult side.

My DH feels the same way. I make things "fun" for him before the trip and during. You know what makes him excited. . . cookies etc. My husband is never going to be as excited about Disney as I am, but he does enjoy it so much more if he feels taken care of before and during the vacation.

I also bought the Richard Petty driving Experience for DH as a gift and suprised him with it for Fathers Day. Our trip wasn't until the end of August and - Man he couldn't wait to get to Disneyworld.

His "drive" was in the middle of our 14 days trip. Everyday he would chant "I'm going to srive a race car, I'm going to drive a race car"

After his experience he kept chanting "I dorve a racre car, I drove a race car" it got to the point I would look at him and say "Shut Up !! I already KNOW you drove that race car" I know that wasn't my best Disney spirit , but MAn it got on my nerves.

He didn't think he would like DisneyWorld but he loves it now even though he hasn't been back to Richard Petty :cool1:

DH DOES NOT CARE FOR DISNEY AS MUCH AS ME AND THE GIRLS DO, :confused3 SO EVERY YEAR ME AND MY 2DD'S GO T DISNEY ON OUR OWN FOR A WEEK LONG TRIP..DH WILL COME EVERY OTHER MONTH W/US (WE LIVE ABOUT AN HR FROM WDW) THIS YEAR HE INSISTED HE WAS NOT GOING TO BUY A YEARLY PASS AND HE WAS NEVER GOING AGAIN :smooth: (WHO'S THE REAL BABY?) fOR FATHER'S DAY WE GAVE HIM HIS ANNUAL DISNEY PASS..WELL now heCAN'T WAIT TO GO. :cheer2: Even to our anual "girls only vacation...the horror! :rotfl2:

So my point is can you help finance the trip? I started babysitting some of my kids friends and am helping pay for hotel and food. This is making DH very excited about our trip..

I hope this helps?

i think you either like disney or you don't. my husband refuses ( now that kids are grown) to go to any amusement park but disney( he loves wdw though). some people just don't get it.some are too cynical, some just don't see the humor, imagination what ever. it's just not their style. if he's been there and not excited he just may be one of those unfortunate few( haha). maybe this trip will help.

My husband absolutely refuses to go... he says he hates amusement parks and he wont be convinced that disney is nothing like one. So what can I do but just go without him and have a great time? :confused3 :rotfl2: :earseek:

Sad, but true. But hey, there is beer! Maybe that will help? Okay, I guess not at MK... :rotfl2: :drinking1 :cool1:

UPDATE! UPDATE!
LOL
DH called me from work today to tell me he printed out a bunch of menus from allears and told me about a hotel deal we didn't get. Yup thats right DH who refuses to show the disney spirit showed some today!

I think the last trip was just bad because I was throwing up half the time, after this trip I think he will change his mind.

Also he said we could renew our vows there for our 5th ann. Too bad we just had our first a couple months ago, oh well I will hold him to it.

I think Tinkerbell snuck over and sprinkled some of her pixie dust on him! :Pinkbounc
