How to get Beignets?

I'm making a list of treats to try. I've never had the Beignets, mostly because it seems some planning might be necessary. I'm not sure I want to give up the quiet morning hours standing in line for a treat but really want one, and a Mickey one sounds better than the Jazz Kitchen (although I know that is an option). Please walk me through the best way to enjoy this treat. Be there at opening? send a runner? are they open for early mornings?
Seems like over planning
Thank you

There are four places to get Beignets at DLR:
  • Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen (restaurant, TS)
  • Jazz Kitchen Express
  • Mint Julep Bar
  • Cafe Orleans (restaurant, TS)
Neither the Mint Julep Bar or Cafe Orleans is open during EMH/MM (MM/EMH only includes parts of Fantasyland and Tomorrowland). If you going to dine at Cafe Orleans, I would just have them there. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't worry about sending a runner or anything like that. Yes, the line can be long at the Mint Julep bar (especially during lunch or dinner time), but I would just have them while over in NOS. They sell them all day, so whenever you're over there and ready for a break, get in line and order a batch.

Oh that sounds too simple. I was under the impression that
The mint julep runs out of beignets by s certain time. Thank you

It's possible for any place to run out of an item, but I haven't seen the Mint Julep Bar run out of beignets whenever I've gone by. Perhaps it happens close to closing, but not mid-day (at least not in my experience).

I've always found it easy to get them in the mornings, say before 10am, for a morning snack. They are made fresh and they never run out, but sometimes you have to wait for a fresh batch to be ready. Even late at night I've picked some up before seeing F!

I haven't really experienced it too often at other locations, but the one place where I have consistently experienced items being sold out for the day is Jolly Holiday. It's usually their specialty dessert items - so for those, I would recommend going early (but not too early because Jolly Holiday doesn't serve all of their special desserts during breakfast hours). Yeah, I have to say enjoying beignets and a Disneyland Mint Julep is a great way to wait for F!.

Here's the trick. Wherever you get them from, make sure you shake up the bag before you start eating. That way the powdered sugar covers them pretty good.

Here's the differences...

Ralph Brennan's (Jazz kitchen express too) are the best PERIOD. They are true beignets and delicious.
The Mint Julep Bar ones are the same as the ones at cafe orleans with the exception of the ones at cafe orleans coming with two dipping sauces. These aren't nearly as good as RBs, but we get multiple orders every trip. Just hit up the MJ bar within 30 minutes of park open otherwise you'll be in a practical queue just to order. Cafe Orleans REQUIRES a reservation... you aren't getting in on a walk-in due to crowds.

HMMM..This is good to know. I remember getting them at the MJ Bar and thinking..these aren't as awesome as everyone hyped them to be.

I think I'll be checking out Jazz Kitchen to try them this Thanksgiving and early December !

The one time I had them, well, I could not disagree more. And that time was far closer (vs now) to when I'd had several in New Orleans. The ones at JKE tested like old, nasty oil, and had a funk to them. So bad I just can't chance it again!

THIS!! They are so good there- we ordered the family size each time and never have left overs lol you can actually see them being made fresh in front of you! I like these ones because they are light and airy inside- the ones inside the parks are heavier and more cake-like.

Agree about the beignets at the Jazz Kitchen. First off, the beignets at the JK (not Express) are better, hotter, fresher. Our server confirmed that the restaurant gets priority when the fresh batch is ready. The trick at the JKExpress is to ask if the current batch is freshly made and, if the answer isn't yes, to be willing to wait until a new batch is ready. If the current batch isn't fresh out of the oil, I'll pay and wait by the side until my order is ready. Totally worth it!

I like both, but agree that both are best when they're freshly made and still piping hot. I, personally, prefer the ones at the Mint Julep Bar because of the cute Mickey-shape and like the slightly denser consistency. I've had mixed luck with the Jazz Kitchen, but the ones at the Mint Julep bar have always been hot and yummy (I think it's because the line is generally long, they don't really have time to get "old"). Just make sure you don't sneeze or inhale when biting into one - otherwise, you'll end up with powdered sugar everywhere!
