I have the Disney visa card, but was wondering how do you get the 6 months interest free? Do you tell Disney when booking, or do you have to call Chase?

Last time I contacted Chase about this (about 3 months ago), they said that I don't have to do anything. When Walt Disney Travel Company charges your card for the package it will automatically be entered as interest free. The also told me that you have to do a package from WDTC to be eligible which means staying on property with at least one days worth of tickets, but when I got my DFi annual pass only, they put it in as interest free as well as my room only AP reservation deposit, but when I originally ordered my AP it was not interest free. These were all seperate transactions weeks apart. Just be sure and check the first bill that you get after puchasing the package closely and make sure it is right. I have only had one problem with chase in regards to billing before and they were excellent in getting the issue fixed asap.

Just a bit of friendly advice--double check the terms of your card. Lots of banks will alter how they allocate your payments if you take a 0% promotion--they reserve the right to allocate your payment to the lowest interest balance first. So, if you charge a $1000 trip, and another $500 of airfare on your Disney Visa, and then make a $300 payment, your payment will go toward reducing the $1000 balance at 0% instead of the $500 at 15% so the rest of things you've charged are all sitting out there accruing interest for as long as possible.

You may want to consider only using the card for the vacation purchase and doing the rest of your spending on another card, otherwise you'll wind up paying a pretty penny in extra interest!

good point, i completely forgortabout that. when i made payments on my card with the AP's etc on there, they payments did take care of my 0% interest stuff first, so Chase will do this as well.

Thanks Pirategirl and Pearlieq I never thought about using a separate card either. Thanks for the info
