We are driving to florida from Indiana Next Friday, I have 3 children going with us my 4/12/and 1 yr old.... I know it'll be pretty easy to keep the older two entertained but how do I entertain the little guy...

Any suggestions!

I did ten hours in a car solo with my DD when she was 18 months. I had the front seat packed full of books, noisy toys, quiet toys, stuffed toys. Some were favorites, some were new. They all ended up on the floor. The only thing she wanted or needed for the majority of the trip was her Dolly and her thumb and the occasional snack. When she was awake, we stopped somewhat frequently and I had her dancing and doing other things that had her moving - made her walk, got her to reach up tall, squat down low, etc.

Good luck!

Keeping DD entertained at 1 was much easier than now at 3. But she loved to watch her favorite videos. I would get the 1YO her own DVD player. Get some of her favs and some new ones. Ones a lot like her favs. DD loved and still loves Elmo.

Also take a lot of breaks. Being stuck in the car seat is hard for their little bodies!

I also take along lots of books and toys. Walmart sells a lap tray for little ones and they can use it to draw, eat and play on.

The best toy will be "you" or another willing person. Talk to her, sing to her, read to her (the same book 20 times will be ok with her),point out the window.

She might be interested in what her older sibblings are going so maybe a few bribes to help intertain her????

At nap time, make a quite car rule so she can fall asleep.

LOTS of non messy snacks. Gerber gratuates makes some really good one.

Have you thought about diving at night that way the kids will sleep most of the way? If he has a show he like get a DVD of that show. We went to California when DS was 16 months and I watched a lot of seseme street that day. Sing songs he likes bring toys to play with and snacks. At least you have to older two to help entertain him. Enjoy your trip. :)

DVD's, snacks, play with stuffed animals and just let them sleep. We took DD on a trip when she was 1. She took a couple of good long naps. Good Luck!

hey everyone just to let you know my 1 yr old is a BOY lol i know its normal to say have her or she lol...

Im going to see if husband can find a dvd player to hook up to his seat... we have a laptop the older kids can use to watch movies...

He really isnt into much of anything, doesnt really have that favorite toy yet and usually when we bring toys with us he throws them down lol....

The thing that worked great for me (and if you dont mind the mess) is notebook paper. I gave my son a notebook and at first he colored ( for like 5 minutes) and then he tore the paper out notebook and ripped it into a million pieces. My Yukon was a mess but It occupied him for HOURS.

:rotfl: I even looked back at your siggie. It says /1 girl so I thought that was your 1YO girl. :)

Of course you did say little guy... :lmao:

I was wanting to know from the person who went to Wyndham how did you enjoy it? we are a "guest" visitor and will be staying there would we still get to call them and request a specific room.

When we took a long road trip with my son at that age, one of the best things he liked in the car was the laugh and learn table without the legs on it. We propped it on his seat and he played for literally hours.
