Hi Everybody :goodvibes

I am going this May (2008) to WDW for my bachelorette party. I was talking to my fiance last night and he felt a little left out lol and told me he wants to go again in May (2009) but he said he wanted to stay somewhere other than the Beach/Yacht or Boardwalk. We always tend to stay in that area because I love it. He told me I am addicted to the Epcot area resort hotels!! and wants to try something new on our next trip

anyone ever make the transition..I have stayed at the Contemporary and Polynesian but it was YEARS ago!!! Has anyone ever switched from your favorite area resort ..what were your results??? and is there a rehab for this sort of thing ;) :lmao:

Wow...I am the complete opposite. I am staying at the beach club villas in june and I always stay in the Magic Kingdom area. My husband is all for the change but I am feeling a little sad. I have stayed at the BC before and it was beautiful but there is this little feeling of regret.

When we were kids we would go every other year and stay at the Poly. So I have all these memories of walking into the lobby and smelling that wonderful smell. Even at the GF last year it felt great to be right there near the Poly. I am afraid I won't get that same feeling....:sad1:

I guess I am just being silly though. I should just be thankful we are able to take the kids again this year.

I think your kids will LOVE!!!!! the pool SAB at the Beach Club!!!!! I love being able to walk to 2 of the theme parks and having access to so many restaurants within walking distance.

hahhaa..ok I am a BC FAN- I stayed at Contemp, Poly and GF many times as a kid, but as an adult my husband and I have stayed at the POFQ (1x) and the rest of the time at the BC... we got married at the WP and then our wedding recpetion was at the BC and our honeymoon, we spent at the BC. We are staying in May at the GF because it worked out that we had a better deal because our CM friends dicount was not avaliable at the BC so it was less expensive to stay at the Gf (imagine that!). While I am excited to stay at the GF, to try something new, a part of me still thinks about the BC. I know it will still be special b/c we got married at the WP and that is right there. I think we may begin to branch out more after this- but the BC is my fav. I love the proximity to Epcot....walking over and having so many options to eat just right there...so don't feel like you are the only one.

I too am addicted. We have stayed at the Swan our past 2 trips. This year we will be there for only one night on our way to a cruise and the hotel is really nothing more than a place to rest our heads for the night. We won't even be going to Epcot or Hollywood Studios. We plan on spending the day at a water park and then heading to Downtown Disney. I thought about booking a moderate or a value hotel which would save $100, plus would allow us to use Magical Express, but couldn't bring myself to do it.

I have recently become addicted to the Epcot resort area. We have stayed all over but one stay at the BW and I was hooked. I really want to stay at Old Key West on a trip because of all the great reviews it gets - but as soon as I think about the fact that I'm not within walking distance of Epcot - I change my mind.

Good Luck!

Try a split stay - 1st half -his choice; 2nd half - yours

That way if you're disappointed with his choice you can end the trip on a positive note by staying at a resort you know you love.

(personally, I love the poly!):)

That's what we did. Were Polynesian fans but I wanted to try the Epcot resorts. For 2 years we split with YC & Poly, BC & Poly. We ended the trips at the Poly just in case we didn't like the other 2.

We really enjoyed the Epcot area, but our hearts still belongs to the Polynesian. :goodvibes

This is a problem that we have as well. We have stayed at every hotel on property, but our favorites are the BC and Boardwalk. Lately it seems, we have stayed at these resorts by default, however we are heading down for a couple nights next month, and decided to do AKV for a change of pace. It will be nice to stay somewhere different for a change. But I sure will miss walking down to Jellyrolls or Beaches and Cream:thumbsup2

We finally broke our habit and tried not only a different resort but a different level as well. The world did not fall off its' axis and we loved it. you need to justtyr it. You may be pleasantly surprised. Good luck.

I am of absolutely not one iota of help on this question as you can see. If you find a cure let me know.

Good luck with trying to break away from that area. I tried to do that this year and stay somewhere different, but I decided to book in the Epcot area again. Just can't get away. Too many positive things about the area!

I just booked the BC this morning for Sept., but we love the Poly, and I am afraid that we won't like it as much. I can't decide if I should move the res or not. Is it a pain to get to MK from the BC? My youngest is 5, so we tend to spend a lot of time in MK, but my older girls (13 & 10) would probably love SAB.....and the do love DS & epcot.
We are really lucky that this is a decision that we have to make...but still it's hard.

I never felt it was hard to get the MK from the BC, I would not say its as easy as getting there from the poly, because that is def not the case.

I do find that after Wishes at the MK, the buses and lines for the Yacht/Beach Club are always the least chaotic of all the bus lines.

We did try the other resorts as well as levels but our favorite is the Polynesian.:)

Although I am totally addicted to BC, I love to try the resorts in other areas. DH loves POR better than BC and I just have so much fun at POP. :woohoo: Try it, you will like it!!!

This is the second time we are going through the rehab process :rotfl: We loved ASMo, but we decided to upgrade. We took forever to make a decision because we were nervous we weren't going to like it as much. To our surprise, we were absolutely thrilled with upgrading to CBR. Now, I'm addicted to that resort. But because of the pool construction this year we don't want to be disappointed and we are trying POR. I am extremely nervous because it will never be CBR. I am sure we will be happy at POR, but i agree as previous posters have mentioned there is always that feeling of regret like you are missing something by not being at the choice of addiction.

I am sure you will enjoy whatever resort you pick. If you are very hesitant a split stay isn't a bad idea. Good luck! :wizard:

I'm trying to break my addiction on our next trip. I adore the BWI and we simply can't afford it this time so we're trying POFQ for the first time.

As said before, I think just trying a new one will do it.

DW and I honeymooned at DWL and swore we'd never stay anywhere else. After visiting other resorts during that trip and subsequent ones, we've now got a list a mile long of places we want to stay (among them the Y&BC). I suppose we'll have to come back a few more times.

Pitty;)

As you can see we like to try different resorts. Just got back from AKV and even though it was nice....Epcot Resorts are our FAVORITE!!!! It's not just the resort per se but it's the whole area. The convience of getting to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, the nightlife, the resort feel.

Why must one go to rehab? Its the perfect place!!!
