We have a group of 8 people, booked in two Category 9's (3 people each) and one Category 4 (2 people) - One person from each of the cat 9's will be staying in the cat 4 room.... We booked this way to save money - extra people in an ocean view cabin apposed to extra people in a balcony helped save some cash.... How should we tip the room stewards?!?

the tips are per person and don't vary based on what category you are in .. so four people will tip the host handling the cat 4 room, and the other four people will tip the host(s) handling their individual cat 9 rooms.

I understand that tips are standard regardless of category... But the two stewards in the CAT 9 may think they are going to be tipped based on 3 passengers.... Just want to make sure this doesn't create any problems, or unhappy room stewards

Tip the Stateroom Hosts according to how many people actually sleep in the room and how much work he/she has to do. If you REALLY have 2 people staying in each of the Cat 9s and 4 folks in the Cat 4 then tip 2x for the cat 9 and 4x for the Cat 4.

I would also always plan on tipping more than the recommended since our experience and that of most DISers is that you get better than expected service.

If they only see two beds slept in every night, they should figure out there are only 2 people in the room.

i found out that they room stewards only get tips, they do not recieve any sort of salery otherwise, so be nice, they really do work hard, any problems or questions they're always there to help. and they litterally work around the clock, and truely appreciate what you give them.

I didn't know that there was a difference in price for the 3rd & 4th passengers in a room based on category?

I know that adults are more than teens, and teens are more than children, but I thought the rate was the same regardless of category.
