I am trying to understand the Vacation guide plans. When it says double occupancy. Is it 98 points per person or 98 points total? Also, when it says 3rd and 4th child, what if there are 5 of us? Also, where do I see pics of the Deluxe family rooms?

Cruise points are listed per person in the charts. I thought it had a footnote about additional people over 4, but I can't remember. I'm pretty sure the 5th person would be charged the same as the other children.

You can see stateroom photos / layout / reviews on wdwinfo.

(I think there are photos in there, if not just Google - I found lots when booking my cruise).

The only catagory that allows a fifth person is a cat. 4. I'm pretty sure the points for the 5th person are the same as the 4th. You can also book two lower catagories with rooms that connect and often use less points.

I always assumed that the cruise points were per person, assuming it would be a 2 person thing. So using the previous example, 98 points pp/double occupancy, meaning 198 points or the room. But I always wondered-what if you're going solo? Would they still try to charge you the full 198 points? I know they do for a room at WDW, charge double, but since the rate on the cruise includes meals, it really doesn't seem fair to charge the full, double rate, since there'll only be meals for one. Does anyone know how they'd work that? I always wondered, but I'm kind of afraid to call and ask-my Irish temper would have a little trouble if they told me the full 198 points, even though, like I said, only one person/s eating.

When they state double occupancy, it means that room/stateroom is priced per person, based on 2 in the room. Single travelers are charged a single supplement fee, which (I think) is normally the full fare for the cabin based on double occupancy. Some lines only charge 150%, I've read - not sure if Disney charges 2x or not.

Not to be obnoxious, but just to clarify: double 98 is 196, not 198.

The 150% sounds correct (based on what I read before) but I have never actually experienced it.

And one adult and one child is charged the same as 2 adults. I've heard of some family groups booking a child in a single aunt's room to save overall $.

LOL-the irony about this is that for many years I was a math teacher, high school and college. Now I prepare taxes-so this is the "new" math of the government!

I belive that DCL is 175%.
