I need ideas/suggestions on how to convince DD (12) that her and I should go to Disney this August without Dad and brother. We can do some bonding! LOL We just went the end of Feb. and I'm already itching to go again. DH doesn't care and DS will be away. Any suggestions???? Make them good! LOL

All I'd have to do for any of my kids say hey, wanna go? and their suitcase would be packed.

Let her pick one or two special events/activities that you have never done before. This will make it extra special because just the two of you will do these activities. Maybe a spa treatment, afternoon tea, dinner show. Plan to take some special mother daughter photos. You will both appreciate them in 10 or more years.

I know with both of my kids they would be there in a second if I offered.

Great idea, but I would make sure for future trips, this is one thing the rest of the family doesn't do, so it will be that "bond" thing 100%, unless of course she wants to share her/your treasure.

Plus, use the "girls" weekend/vacation on her.

Possibly a challenge, as well. Let's just see how well the "guys" do without us, get hubby to play along and brother if old enough to carry it through. Play it up big before hand and have hubby chime in. Just a thought. Plus, may make her realize how "valuable" the women of the house are. **No this is not a cut down to any male posters-just giving suggestions** :cheer2:

Why do you need to convince her? Would she not want to go?

Well for one I CANT believe that she would need persuading!
Who would give up the cahnce to go to the happiest place on earth without an annoying brother and a clueless Dad cramping their style?
If there is something particular she collects you could say you could go there to get a couple limited editions??!!

I've talked with DD and she doesn't want to go without her brother and Dad. She would rather stay home this summer and go to Disney this Fall with them. She said it wouldn't be the same without them! I tried! So I'm off to make ressie for sometime this Fall. Thanks for all your help.

Wow! That is really neat--you must have a really close knit family. Good for you!
