I am so happy right now, I could burst!!!:dance3: :dance3: After days of trying to change my ressies with the 40% code (which I hadn't received but was able to use;) ) I stumbled across a post by CanadianGuy with directions on how to change my ressie. I followed his directions and was able to change my ressies.  So now, I will be able to use the 40%off code for the deluxe (AKL) part of our trip and the use free dining for the value part of our trip!!!!! I just saved a ton!!!!! I'm bouncing off the walls right now!!!!

So thank you CanadianGuy!!! here's a :mickeybar and a great big :thanks: :thanks: :thanks:

You Rock!!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Can you let me in on how to do this? I looked for the post but can't find it. I am trying to do the same thing. Do you know what the minimum amount of days for the 40% off code was? Thanks!

Ok.. I might be able to shed some light on this.. I got some info today on this.

For Those Who Are Booked on the 40% Off Promo..

Extending your stay at one end or the other - a front line CM should be able to do this. As long as your check in date doesn't move outside the travel dates for the promotion and there is room availability for your dates/resort.

Switching Resorts : Apparently specialists at guest services can do this if they can find availability at the resort. The front line CMs at the reservation center cannot do this for you. Since the booking window is closed for that promotion.. they will continually show no availability when trying to SWITCH resorts. HOWEVER... Apparently the CM at CRO can call Guest Relations. Then if it is at all possible.. they will try to help you out. Not all requests can be accommodated. So.. ask the CM .. they will say no.. then politely ask them to speak to supervisor or call Guest Relations because your understanding is that they might be able to help with this.

Obviously if you have a AAA booking, your AAA agent is going to have to make that call and request the supervisor or that the CM contact guest services.

I hope this helps.

Knox

Sorry, I don't know what the minimum day requirement is. Good Luck!

OK I'm a dunce but...what is a "Front Line Cast Member" ??
Thanks

Do you think they would care if I shortened my stay? I really don't want to lose this rate since it looks like I will not get in on Free Dining :sad2:

COCOWUM:

You're welcome and I'm glad Guest Services was able to help you out.

That's awesome.

HALEYB:

Call and ask. The CM you get on the phone at first should be able to help you with this. You don't say.. but I'm guessing you are more than 45 days away from your arrival.. so shortening your trip should pose no trouble providing...

1) You don't move your check-in date beyond the original dates for the 40% off promo

2) You still meet the minimum number of nights required.. which I think was three or four. A CM can tell you for sure.

Thanks Knox. I am way more than 45 days out, sadly. I want to go NOW!!!

:thumbsup2

How can I get the 40% off code? We are going in June! I love this board!

The 40% off code was offered to select previous guests of WDW via email or mail earlier this year. Some folks who did not receive the card or email.. were still able to book this discount. In some cases CM's offered it, in other cases people asked and were allowed.

The booking window closed on March 15th. So unless you already have a reservation .. you can't take advantage of it regardless.

Full information on the history available here.

I do have a reservation but it looks like I fall in between the code dates. Thanks for the link to clarify the issue though!

Yay for being able to change ressies, it's VERY hard to do.

I tried to change my ressie again today after reading this. I even asked for a supervisor. She told me she wasn't willing to even look into changing the ressie as the booking time had past. I've only been trying every other day for the last month to upgrade.:rotfl2:

Oh well, I'll try again tomorrow.

Supervisor is not going to work. You need to ask them to speak to Guest Services. Be exact. And be pushy if necessary.

ALTHO - it's worth pointing out -- that depending on availability and a bunch of other factors, even they may not be able to help you!

I've tried adding a day onto our stay a couple of different times and was told they couldn't do it because the promotion expired or there was no availability at the discounted rate.

Thanks to you, CanadianGuy, I was able to upgrade to AKL with a pool view!! I'm so excited. I called first thing this morning and asked for Guest Relations and a very nice women worked her magic!

Thanks again :)

Judie

Awesome, Congrats!!!!

Availability obviously changes daily because when I called they only had Std views available. Guess I'll be calling back!!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

And you will be told that right up till your trip unless you ask them politely to check with Guest Services about your request! :)

Glad it worked out for Coco and the others!

I did ask them to check with Guest Services. She put me on hold, whether she actually checked with them, I don't know for sure, but when she came back after about 5 minutes, she said the answer was no. I actually called 3 times and asked them to check with Guest Services. The other CMs wouldn't check, they just said it's not available.

I am going to call again and see if I can get a more helpful CM, though.

Thanks!

Well it may very well be there is no availability at the discounted rate.. as you were told. That is a distinct possibility.
