How to change assigned Guide

Thanks, Granny!

When you do an add on through DVD, do you have to pay any closing costs or other fees (transfers, titles, etc.)? I know when you make an intial purchase DVD takes care of everything. Just want to know where we stand in adding on. :confused3 OMG DH will kill me!

No additional closing costs or other fees -- just $89 per point. Also, the maintenance fees are pro-rated so we pay starting May 2005 through December 2005 instead of the entire year the way most resale contract sellers/agents demand.

Lisa is our guide as well, but I was informed that she is moving to the California DVC so I was connected with Julie who was very helpful in getting me on the waitlist for BWV and the points came through in about 10 days. Julie told me that Lisa is still my guide, but that I might get notification by the FedEx contract mailing before I received a phone call. That was fine with me, I just wanted the add-on. :)

I absolutely agree that for small point add-on's, going through DVC is the only way to go because of the closing costs for resale and the process through DVC is so easy and quick - just sign your names next to the "Mickey ears", mail in the prepaid FedEx envelope and send the money. Almost too easy......... :teeth:

I am sorry Scotch had no return calls. Deborah is our guide through 2 add ons and the original purchase. She has been just wonderful. It shows how an experience can be so different for 2 people. She sometimes takes a few days to call. But she called Sunday to say happy Mother's Day (and coincidentally I used the occasion to discuss an add on :teeth: ). She has had some family illness recently, so perhaps that has played a roll along with a very full work load. :confused3 We love Deborah and visit her often when we are in the area. I would not hesitate to recommend her.

We had a guide assisgned to us when we joined. Even though we first purchased via resale, he was the one that our friends had and must have been attached to our profile. We never really had any contact until we did an add-on. We had the paperwork ready to sign but then Disney came out with a different incentive so we asked for new paperwork and completed the deal. Fast forward a few months, and we got a post card stating we had a new guide. This one has sent us a few more things but I was always curious to know why we were reassigned. I am pretty sure our original guide is still working for DVC.

Oh well, the new guy will get our commission on our next add-on. :)

Finally got assigned another guide. I called MS and they transferred me to Frank who is in charge of sales. He called me back right away and said Greg would be my new guide and when would I like him to call me back. I said after 3:00 when I get home with DS from school. Hopefully he will be prompt.

I had a similar problem. I knew I wanted to buy after staying at DVC on a friends membership. I left two messages with no return call.

I finally left a third message saying "I have the funds and want to buy today. If I do not get a call in 3 hours then I will assume you have too much business to handle and will call and find another agent to handle the sale." That message got a call back in 15 minutes.

I felt bad I did it - but - I had some conversations with her and like her alot and am glad I did not find someone else.

I think those folks are worked hard. They have many customers and are also asked to handle the desks at all the WDW venues. I think you should give them some slack, but, if you are ready - they should jump!
