Hi,
We are planning on being at WDW and doing a 3 night cruise for our 10th year wedding anniversary. I thought of renewing our vows, but it seems like those prices are so expensive. And we are already spending $$$ on the hotel and dcl. We are traveling with a party of 15 people and were thinking of doing something special to honor our 10 years of marriage. Any ideas? Maybe a reception some place, or Illuminations cruise? I have no idea. Please help!

My parents are going down to WDW for their 27th anniversary. They love Disney (we were just down there in June.) They plan on doing the Polynesian Luau, something they haven't done before. We've all been to Hawaii, so it would be a nice way to be in their two favorite places at once :) The Illumination's cruise sounds like fun also.
Just thought I'd give you a small suggestion :)

I think it is more reasonable to renew your vows while on DCL. Maybe you can check into that? Sounds like a wonderful anniversary trip :goodvibes :sunny:

I just looked on line at the Cruise Weddings and it said that cruise weddings were for 20 of less guests and the price was $1,938 - $2,998. I think that doesn't sound to bad if you try to stick close to the first price it could be under $2,000, is that still too much?

An illuminations cruise sounds great but you would need to get two boats, only 10 per boat and you have to call as soon as they open these book fast. Maybe instead of just an Illuminations crusie you could book a celebrations Illuminations cruise, same thing except they decorate the boat with ballons. I like the idea that mindystar said about the luau, that would be nice. Or maybe you could even do an Illuminations dessert party - that would be great too. There is a lot of info on this board about the dessert parties - the phone number to call to book one of these is posted somewhere too.

I looked into the dcl vow renewal, but it had things like a massage (which dh won't do) and champagne, (which we don't drink), so I felt like we were paying for things we wouldn't even need. I'm going to look into the luau. That seems like fun!

It is possible they might allow changes and substitutions to the VR add-on at DCL :wizard: The luau sounds like a great place to celebrate a special anniversary also :goodvibes

We are having our 10th anniversary VR at WDW in December. We went on your honeymoon to WDW so it seemed appropriate since we loved it so much. Ours is custom VR because when we signed our contract we had to do a custom because we had more than 11 people. However, now you can have an intimate for 20 people or less. An intimate is definitely more reasonable financially, but you still have ceremony, limo, cake, flowers, photgrapher, etc. Perhaps you could all go out to eat at the California Grill afterwards for dinner reception or one of you favorite restaurants at WDW. I know that a number of Intimate brides have done this. The CG is a wonderful location and if you schedule is right you can see the fireworks. Or you could go to Narcoossee's at GF and see the fireworks also.
