How to cancel one car reservation and make another?

We're headed down to Disney World on Dec.2nd.. A few months ago I made our car rental reservation (Alamo), but we have now decided that we're going to need a larger vehicle..

Should I cancel the old reservation first and then make the new one - or make the new one and then cancel the old one?

Seems I read on these boards that someone actually ended up with no car because the system got "confused"..

What's the best approach?

My opinion i that its safer to have 2 reservations than none. I would first make the new one, once you have the confirmation number, cancel the old one. JMO.

Pull up your Alamo reservation--on the page you should find an area where you can "make changes"---just update your vehicle.

But first, go to the site, pretend you are a new customer and get the price . . . sometimes the quotes vary. If the new ressie is cheaper, make one and then cancel.
