How to cancel a completed ebay auction?

I had an item end yesterday but accidentally broke the item while packing it. How do I cancel the auction?

You can't cancel it. Your best bet at this point is to come clean to the buyer and refund their money unless you can offer an identical item......

I hate when that happens. After communicating to your buyer, you can enter a dispute for the item. List your items sold, under the options, you can enter "report an unpaid item". Follow the process, there is an option "We have both agreed not to complete this transaction". It will send an email to the buyer for a response, after they agree to it, the auction is cancelled, you get your fees back.

You can just process a refund through the paypal account.

What happened to Steve has happened to me once and I did the exact same thing. Good advice!

Thanks. Actually, the buyer hadn't paid yet so no refund is needed. I was just wondering if I could register it as incomplete and get any fees back.

Can I still leave feedback. I'd like to give the guy a positive for good communication and being understanding, if that's possible.
