in a year and 1/2 we will have 2 adults, a 5 year old and twin 3 yr old boys. what resorts can accomodate us? can you sleep five in an all star without a suite. the boys can sleep together now. can we get a regular room and just use and air matress. what about the dining plan. if we get a package will we have to get 2 rooms. any info on how some of you have handled this greatly appreciated. just trying to plan ahead.

you won't be able to do this. The limit is four

We have 4 children. ASMu Family suites actually came out to just a tad bit more than two rooms.

I believe there are choices for a family of five - I just don't know what they are. hopefully someone else will.

None of the values sleep 5, except the All-Star Music Suites - they sleep six. POR is the only moderate that sleeps 5 and I think all of the Deluxes can take 5. If you want everyone in your family to have a ticket and dining plan credits then everybody would have to be on the reservation including the 3 year olds. We have 4 kids and the most economical choice for us is 2 rooms at a value. Your cheapest option would be to book POR.

I am interested in these reponses as well! I am expecting my third. I assumed some suites would accomodate 5 - but am interested in hearing all reponses.

Port Orleans Riverside is probably your best choice. My sister, myself and three kids ages 5, 7 & 9 fit perfectly fine there last summer.

The primary options for a family of 5 include:

Family suites at All Star Music
POR
Deluxe: many of them sleep 5. With the AAA discount, I think the Contemporary came to about $60 per night more than POR.

The choices for a family of 5 include:
Family Suites
2 rooms at any resort - request "Connecting" not "Adjoining" rooms
POR - Only Aligator Bayou rooms have the trundle bed which sleeps 5.
CR, Poly, GF, Deluxe WL rooms, BC, YC BWI. I am not sure about AKL now with the DVC construction - I think all of the deluxe rooms that slept 5 are being converted.
Fort Wilderness Cabins
1 bedroom DVC Villas, either renting points from an owner or through CRO.
You can not sleep 5 in a room designated for 4 by using an air mattress. If you are discovered you will be asked to leave. It is for safety reasons.
You would not have room keys and therefore access to EMH for everyone.
You could not be on the DDP for everyone unless they are listed on the reservation.
HTH

1 bedroom DVC Villas, either renting points from an owner or through CRO.

Interestingly enough, you can only book for 5 in a one bedroom villa if booking through DVC(renting points). You can't book for 5 through CRO as in that case the limit is 4.

However, the new AKL 1 bedroom villas will accomodate 5 people no matter what.

I found when looking for a place for my family of 5, the dolphin with aaa was actually cheaper than 2 rooms at a value resort (and that was including their extra fees for parking). You can't get the dining plan there but you do get everything else like all disney transportation, extra hours in park... Also location is great.

Most of the deluxes take five-we have 3 kids also. I know the BC, YC, BWI, GF, POLY, CR, all sleep 5 comfortably-2 queen beds and a day bed. We even had enough room in our standard size BC room for a full size crib several years ago. I was expecting a pack and play, but they brought me up a very nice full size crib with crib sheets. :goodvibes

The WL only sleeps 4 in a room, unless you book the deluxe room/suite thing. I know it's more than a standard room at the BC or YC, but I'm not usre how much more.

You won't be able to put 5 in any value room except the allstar music family suites. The value rooms as well as the moderates only have 2 double beds and sleep 4. The exception to that is POR. The Alligater Byou section has rooms with 2 double beds and a pull out trundle bed. It's pretty small. I'm sure you can find pictures of it on Allears.com

Your only other option is to book 2 rooms at a value or moderate. Booking a 1 bdr DVC villa through CRO with 5 people, as someone pointed out, can't be done. Plus, a DVC 1 bdr villa only has 1 king bed and a sofa bed. You could book a 2 bdr DVC villa through CRO, but it will be more $$ than a deluxe hotel room.

You can also put 5 in a room at the Swan-probably the dolphin too, but I'm not sure though.

You can't use Magical Express either, which to me is a big bummer. Also you cannot charge from the parks on your room key, which I like to do too.

We've stayed at Port Orleans (When it was Dixie Landings) before kids. For the price, I'd rather stay at the Dolphin with our 3 kids. The views can be awesome! I love the true hotel feel with indoor hallways rather than the motel feel with rooms that exit to the outdoors--with no convenient elevators on the upper floors. The location cannot be beat either. It's a deluxe at cheap prices-teachers, nurses, get discounts.

I never really thought about the Dolphin as an option, because we like the dining plan, but I guess the truth is we could buy what ever food we wanted and still come out ahead with the difference in room price. Does it have a Disney feel? What is the bus service like? Hmmm, we really like deluxe, I may have to look into this further. Thanks for the tip!

For a family of 5 your options include AS Family Suites, POR (Alligator Bayou has trundle beds in the rooms), FW Cabins, and most of the deluxe resorts (Poly, CR, GF, BWI, BC, YC). I don't think WL and AKL can accomodate a family of 5 in one room.

Another consideration if your timetable is a bit more flexible....go before the twins turn 3 and you can stay at a value and not have to purchase park passes for them.

Some resorts may say they sleep 5 - but check for square footage. We have been doing the GF and Poly with my 2 children. It is tight with 4 in a room and now that I am expecting my 3rd I think it would be tiht in the room for 5. My boys are not old enough to be in an adjoining room - so when the next little guy arrives we may have to look into suite options.

HI! Just curious wouldnt a suite at Coronado Springs Resort sleep five or more? Just wondering since it wasn't mentioned? We are staying there this august unless something changes and looking foward to it! But we are only a family of 4!

CSR has a room max. of four, the only mod. that will accommodate five people in a room is POR and I believe only in the Alligator Bayou Section.
